Cramond kicked off their 2026/27 campaign under warm skies at Christie Gillies Park, and the boys wasted no time setting the tone. From the first whistle they were on the front foot, pressing high, moving the ball sharply and pinning North Berwick back inside their own half.
Against the run of play, a defensive mix‑up gifted the visitors a chance, and their striker showed real bravery to nip in and finish tidily to make it 1–0.
Cramond responded exactly how you want on opening day with intensity, belief and togetherness. Four players were handed their league debuts, all slotting in seamlessly as the home side pushed hard to level the match before the break.
The second half followed the same pattern: Cramond dominant, North Berwick hanging on. Wave after wave of attacks came, with chances created from wide areas, quick transitions and set pieces. But the away keeper produced a string of excellent saves to keep his side in front.
Then, with seconds left on the clock, came the moment the performance deserved. A free kick on the edge of the box. Up stepped debutant Lyall, who curled a stunning effort into the far corner to secure a fully deserved point.

Not the result the boys wanted, but the performance was full of energy, commitment and quality. A strong start to the season, plenty to build on and attention now turns to a midweek trip away to Edinburgh United.
