Edinburgh United FC are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jimmy McLauchlan, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 5th May 2026, aged 80.

Jimmy was one of the original members of Edinburgh United when the club was formed and went on to manage the club on three separate occasions. He remained a loyal and familiar face around Paties Road for many years, regularly attending matches up until recently.

Everyone at the club sends our sincere condolences to Jimmy’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Jimmy’s funeral service will take place at St Cuthbert’s RC Church, Edinburgh on Wednesday, 27th May at 1pm, to which all family and friends are welcome.

Rest in peace, Jimmy.🖤🤍
