Last weekend saw another fun race at KL Tower. Time trial format means it is all about smart pacing and strong mental focus from about 20% onwards when your heart rate is already maxed and your legs are already screaming! Everything in your head is telling you to slow down, but you have to keep your cadence and not lose the rhythm of the climb.

Proud to get 2nd place for veterans, and 6th overall. Not bad for an old duffer.

See you next year!

In 2024 I had the privilege to run all 6 World Marathon Majors (before Sydney made it 7, haha). A primary motivator was to raise money for the awesome charity: water and this week I was updated that our water project in Cambodia is now complete! THANK YOU to everybody that donated to my 2024 fundraising campaign.

Here's the project details that we've just received:

"The school your gift was able to sponsor is in a village called Khlam. It is home to 290 students and teachers who used to face daily challenges in their learning environment. Without reliable access to clean water, basic sanitation, and proper facilities, children often struggled to stay healthy and focused in class.

Because of your support, that reality has changed. Today, students in Khlam Primary School can drink clean water throughout the day, wash their hands before meals, and use improved sanitation facilities with dignity.

You didn’t just bring water to a school, you gave nearly 300 children the chance to learn, grow, and dream without the burden of unsafe water.

This project will continue to impact students for years to come, and your generosity will be felt by every child who passes through Khlam's classrooms. From all of us, and especially from the students and teachers in Cambodia, thank you."

Last weekend I competed in my first World Masters Athletics event at the 2025 World Masters Games in Taipei.

Not sure if I'm proud or embarrassed to showcase that I was Champion in the Over 50's 10km Road Race, haha!

Anyway, age is just a number, and I'm pleased to share that "Fit At Fifty" feels pretty good.

It's amazing how long 2.2km can feel!

The 40km marker is a lovely sight for a marathoner, but there's still plenty of pain to be overcome before the joy of the finish line.

It's been 3 months since I completed the final marathon of my 6 Majors Challenge, and I'm definitely happy to not be thinking about Tokyo, Boston and London in the coming months!!!
