Would you like to be involved in shaping sport in your school - creating more opportunities for pupils in your school to take part in sport?

Promoting sport and providing a voice for pupils in your school?🗣️

Apply to be a Young Ambassador for Sport! You will work alongside Active School, the PE dept and your school sport council to make sport the best it can be within your school.

⭐ Helping to build leadership, communication, and organisational skills through training, workshops, and practical coaching placements. Supporting future career opportunities in sport.

⭐️ This programme provides general and sport specific training courses to upskill young leaders ahead of going onto further education or into the workforce.

⭐ If you interested in a career in sport, teaching or any kind of leadership role – this is an opportunity not to be missed!

Heart of Midlothian FC - Play The Game
FUTURE COACHES PROGRAMME 2026

Active Schools Midlothian & Midlothian Council Football Development are partnering with Heart of Midlothian FC & Dalkeith Thistle CFC on an exciting opportunity for new or aspiring young coaches in S4-6 to grow and develop their coaching tool kit through a series of interactive and dynamic sessions.

Successful applicants will take part in 4 x training sessions delivered by Heart of Midlothian FC and Scottish FA coach developers with volunteering coaching placements supported by Active Schools Midlothian, Midlothian Football Development & Dalkeith Thistle CFC.
It is expected, all successful applicants MUST also complete a 10 hour football volunteering placement in local schools or in the local community (volunteering placements will be allocated as close as possible to the applicants home/school). All selected applicants are required to pay £10 towards coaching resources.
Submission Deadline: Friday 26th June

PENICUIK PRIMARY FOOTBALL FESTIVAL ⚽️

☂️ The rain did not stop us!
⚽️This morning 6 teams from 3 local Penicuik Primary Schools came together to play some fun interschool football games.
⚽️Over 60 pupils came together Penicuik park Astro - supported by their school staff, not only on the day but with training in the lead up to this event.
🏆 Massive well done to all involved - special congrats to our event winner - 🥇 Cornbank team A 👏🏼
🤩 Big thank you the brilliant sport students from for scoring and referring the games - lots of positive feedback here and we could not have run such a successful event without you all.
