The programme was identified as a key element of the Scottish Executive's drive to get more people in Scotland "More People, More Active, More Often"

We're excited to launch a brand new partnership with Active Schools Midlothian, bringing our popular Future Coaches programme to Dalkeith this month.

Over four weeks, aspiring S4–S6 coaches from across Midlothian will enjoy:
⚽ Practical, games-based coaching content including resources
📚 Career and volunteering signposting
🎓 An introduction to opportunities within football coaching, Scottish FA Coach Education and sport

talented young players with additional opportunities to
develop their potential.

Through our partnership with Coerver® Coaching Scotland,
players will benefit from a structured programme focused on
technical excellence, confidence, creativity and decision
making.

Together, we are committed to creating an environment that
helps develop better players, strengthens local clubs and
supports the future of football in Midlothian.

REGIONAL FOOTBALL PERFORMANCE PATHWAY

We are delighted to announce a one-of-a-kind, partnership between Midlothian Council Football Development and Coerver®️ Coaching.

This new program will provide a regional performance pathway for players who are schooled in Midlothian, providing a clear progression route for talented players from P4-S2.

Kicking off in September 2026, the pathway is designed to support players at every stage of their development, including a development and games program, whilst ensuring they continue to thrive within their club environment.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT AWARD 2025-26

We're delighted to recognise Aimee Falconer - a fantastic Active Schools volunteer!

Aimee is a 1st year HN student at Edinburgh College and completed her placement with us.

Aimee went above and beyond - she volunteered her time to deliver more clubs in the Newbattle area, coaching primary pupils in a whole range of sports.

She also stepped up to support various interschool events, including the Midlothian Football tournament, Cluster Cheer Competition and the Athletics Championships!

A very well deserved recognition!
