Good luck to all sides competing in the Valentine Shield & Cup.

After 14 years away, the Valentine Cup returns to Salford on Sunday 25 October.

A competition with more than a century of history. Four community clubs go head to head at The CorpAcq Stadium.

Free admission. Gates open 10:30am.

We’re pleased to confirm Marc Sneyd will take on a part-time skills coaching role with Castleford Tigers alongside his playing commitments with Salford RLFC.

With our squad training evenings an opportunity arose that made sense for all parties, to support both clubs and Marc’s development.

Ryan Brierley said :”Marc is developing as a coach. The experience he gains working in a Super League environment benefits him and this club in the long run. His contract with Salford already includes an option to join our coaching staff in the future.”

The arrangement has been discussed openly with Marc, Castleford’s Director of Rugby Chris Chester and Head Coach Paul Rowley, and we’re pleased to continue our good relationship with Castleford Tigers.

Marc remains fully committed to Salford RLFC, and we’re looking forward to seeing him back in a Salford shirt in 2027.

We’re delighted to confirm the return of Matty Ashurst on a 2-year deal.

He made 230 appearances for Wakefield, was named in the 2018 Dream Team, and captained a promotion-winning side. He knows exactly what it takes to rise.

After starting late on in 2026 as a new club, we’re ready to take things to the next level in 2027! 💪

The Salford RLFC Women’s team is looking for dedicated, ambitious, and passionate athletes to be part of our 2027 journey, whether you’re returning from our current squad or ready to join us for the first time.

📅 Trial Dates: Friday 20th & Friday 27th November
📍 Location: Salford Stadium, M30 7EY
⏰ 6:30pm - 8:30pm approx 🕕 Registration: 6:30pm (Press Room via main entrance)

Expect a mix of field, fitness, skill, and strength, so bring both boots and trainers.

If possible please attend BOTH dates as we will be practising different disciplines on each day.

For 31 years, John Wilkinson led this Club. Now it’s our turn to honour him.

On Saturday 21 November, we’re hosting a black-tie evening at the CorpAcq Salford Stadium to celebrate Dr John A. Wilkinson OBE, our Life President, and the longest-serving Chairman the game had ever seen when he stepped down in 2013.

A proud Salford man who always put people first, John has given more than four decades to rugby league in this city. This is the night he deserves.

Owen Haldenby, Fin Yates, Kieran Dixon and Danny Lynch will leave the club ahead of the 2027 season.

Each of them pulled on the shirt in a season where we broke records and laid the foundations for what’s next. Our 2026 squad will always be part of this club’s story.
