Don’t let that little voice inside your head tell you it’s not. 🗣

Progress comes in different forms. 📈

It looks different from one person to the next.

You may not be losing weight as fast as someone else but you can still be making progress.

Everyone's bodies move and drop weight at different paces. 🏃‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Sometimes that little voice inside our head can tell us otherwise and that inner voice might become quite loud at times. 🔊

It might say things like:

"This is taking far too long. Maybe I should quit."

Stop listening to that voice in your head that says:

🗣 "I've worked hard today, I don't need to exercise too."

🗣 "I don’t have time, and my weight isn't going down anyway."

🗣 "I'm too tired for a walk."

🗣 "My back hurts, I can’t go for a walk.

🗣 "I’ll exercise later."

When excuses pop up, try these tips:

👉 Remember your "why." Is it weight loss, better fitness, or more energy?

👉 Challenge your excuses. Are they true barriers or just the easy way out?

👉 Be prepared. Keep your workout gear handy so you’re always ready.

👉 Schedule it like an appointment. Treat exercise as a non-negotiable.

👉 Find an accountability partner. A friend, family member, or coach can help keep you on track.

It's a common struggle, but here's a little reminder:

🗣 "I have no energy to workout",

Might just be a story you often tell yourself.

Think about it… when was the last time you engaged in physical activity? 🏋️‍♂️

If it's been a while, your body might be stuck in a low energy loop.

Surprisingly, exercise can be the very thing to break that cycle. ♻️

It might seem counterintuitive,

But physical activity actually boosts your energy levels. 📈

When you get moving,

Your body releases endorphins,

Those feel good hormones that can give you a natural energy boost.

Sure, it might be tough to lace up your sneakers and get started when you're feeling tired, 😴

But once you push through that initial resistance,

You'll likely find yourself feeling more energized than when you started.

So next time you find yourself feeling “too tired” to do exercise… 😴

Use your internal discipline to push through and do the work.

Do you know how well you can succeed at something?

Maybe you try something a few times,

Your not so good at it due to not having much practise,

Then soon after, you give up.

Any successful sportsman or businessman has constantly worked at something to get better at something.

It’s very rare you start something on a whim and you are amazing at it.

Practice makes perfect in every situation. ✅

But simply,

Whether you think you can or you can't achieve something…

YOU ARE RIGHT!

Read that again. ⬆️⬆️

Would you agree? 🤔

If you think you can achieve something,

✅ You are more likely to succeed.

✅ You are more likely to overcome challenges.

✅ You are more likely to persevere.

On the other hand, if you doubt yourself or have negative beliefs,

You may find yourself faced with fear or making excuses for why you can't succeed.

This can apply to a lot of goals throughout life,

Think about weight loss… ⚖️

If you tell yourself:

🗣 ‘This didn’t work last time, why would it work this time’

🗣 ‘I’m not good at exercising and have no time anyway’

🗣 ‘I lose weight then just plateau, I’ll never get there’

You are likely to fail.

Whereas if you tell yourself:

🗣 ‘I will make this achievable and easy for myself and hit the small wins weekly’

🗣 ‘This may not have worked in the past, but I am determined to try my best to succeed’

🗣 ‘If I plateau, that’s okay - exercise makes me feel good and I’m sure the weight will drop off if I stay consistent’

There's a huge difference between the two mindsets.

You need to be your own biggest supporter.

Ever wake up feeling a bit off? 😕

It's more common than you think.

Especially when you work a high demand job, have a busy lifestyle or drink alcohol often. 🥃

Something I find helpful is being aware of how you feel...

➡️ Not only being aware but TAKING ACTION.

Wake up - hydrate 🚰

Why? Because you're most likely dehydrated from not drinking water for 8 hours (or less).

If you feel tired, walk. 🚶‍♂️

Why? Because it will boost your endorphins making you feel more awake.

If you feel stressed, run. 🏃‍♂️

Why? Because exercise reduces stress and makes you feel better in general.

If you feel down, write it out. ✍️

Why? Because you can get all of your thoughts onto paper and out of your head. It can be a great pressure releasing valve when you feel overwhelmed or simply have a lot going on.

When you feel self doubt, meditate. 🧘‍♂️

Why? Because mindfulness can help you recognise and challenge the negative beliefs that fuel your self doubt.

When you feel angry, lift weights. 🏋️‍♂️

Why? Because you're probably experiencing an adrenaline spike you can put to good use in the gym. Use that extra strength and focus to take on more weight or more sets than usual.

You get to the end of the work day, 🏢

Work has been stressful,

A lot of caffeine got you through the day, ☕️

You’ve only eaten something that you could get your hands on quickly, 🍟

Rather than something that will help fuel your energy,

Your tired, 💤

You sit through through traffic to get home, 🚦

Pondering on how your going to get your last burst of energy to get you be active,

You get in,

You chat to the wife and kids, 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

You attend your after work activities,

Before you know it,

Your having a whiskey to release the days stresses, 🥃

Somehow time skipped out on you,

You missed your opportunity to do your workout. 🚶‍♂️

Once again,

You feel like exercise is impossible with your lifestyle,

You stay up late, 😴

Just to think I’ll get up tomorrow morning and go for a walk.

Morning comes, 🌅

That snooze button just looks too attractive.

So you hit it a few times, ⏰

Then rush out the door for another day of low energy, high stress, and chasing your tail.

AND REPEAT. 🔂
