We're looking forward to attending the Live Well Age Well Community Fair at the De La Warr Pavilion later this month.

We'll be sharing a stand with our friends at Active Rother, ready to chat about local opportunities to engage with activity, musculoskeletal (MSK) health, how to access our services, and the many ways local organisations can support your health and wellbeing.

For us, it's all about helping people stay active, independent and able to do the things that matter most to them. Whether that's work, hobbies, caring responsibilities or simply getting out and about, we want to make sure an MSK condition isn't holding you back.

We'll also be on hand to explain our physiotherapy self-referral service, which allows many people to access physiotherapy without needing to see their GP first.

Come and say hello, pick up some information and resources, and find out what support is available from the fantastic range of organisations attending.

📅 - 30 September
⏰ - 11am to 3pm
📍 - De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill

We're really looking forward to seeing everyone there. The De La Warr Pavilion is always a brilliant venue for bringing people together!

Know your numbers week is here
🗓️ 7-13 September

Do you know your blood pressure?

High blood pressure often has no obvious symptoms, but knowing your numbers can help you take action to look after your health

Regular physical activity can help you manage your blood pressure

You don't need to become a marathon runner.

Try to build towards:
🚶‍♀️‍➡️ 150 minutes of moderate activity each week (5 x 30 minutes or 7 x 21.4 minutes)
💪 Strength exercises 2 days each week
🪑 Less time sitting and more movement throughout the day

Walking, cycling, swimming, dancing, gardening, strength exercise and many other activities all count.

Stat where you are and build up gradually, the latest Chief Medical Officer guidelines show going from inactive to more active has a big positive impact on our health (See Image 2).

Not sure where to start or want to understand more about your health?

One You East Sussex can help.

You may be eligible for a free NHS Health Check, which includes a blood pressure check and advice about your health and lifestyle.

You can book if you:
✅ Live in East Sussex
✅ Are aged 40-74
✅ Haven't had a NHS health check in the last 5 years
✅ Haven't been diagnosed with heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease, high cholesterol or high blood pressure
✅ Aren't taking any medication for blood pressure, cholesterol or diabetes.
