Kings reserves continued their positive pre season with a comfortable victory.

From the start the instructions were simple, keep the ball simple passing and wait for the opportunity. It didnt take long for Kings to open their account with good work from ollie law down the right to beat his man square the ball and find staniland for his first of the morning.
The second goal came soon after with some good one touch football pulled back to hayden Kent to find the back of the net. Within 10 mins ollie law is fouled on the corner of the box to win a free kick. Up steps amendola, he whips in a great back post cross that somehow manages to nestle in the far corner. The pattern of the morning became clear with intricate passes in the final third for millership to get his 1st and staniland his second.

Again Kings controlled and pressed the game, a ball whipped in for millership to rise and fire a bullet header past the keeper to make it 6!.

Lapse in concentration occurred between the kings gk and cb allowing the otter forward to get a deserved goal for his efforts.

Half time......

Changes were made opportunitys were given and all players stepped up. Albeit a slower paced second half sourced many chances for the kings. The ball is played through for joyce who showed his strength initially and then got bullied to the floor and won a penalty, the poet then slotted home the gift to the bottom right to make it 7!!
Finally some good work out wide produced a mid level cross for beau Nicholson to fire a wonderfull volley into the net wrapping up a good morning's work.

Every player played well today and all deserve the plaudits for a professional disciplined performance.

Next week kings reserves open their season away to walkeringham hoping to take the great pre seaon form into the start of the campaign.

Two goals from Billy Stafford and a third from Ben Smith was enough to keep hold of the Tony Mason challenge Cup for a second year with a comfortable win.
Clarborough kings started brightly with some great passing play creating many chances without adding the finishing touch.
As it was an opener from Stafford saw them only one up at the break. An half which saw keeper Ben Payne as a virtual spectator.
The re start saw the visitors carve open Haxeys defence in quick succession Stafford hammering in a second before a smart four man move found Ben Smith in the box who controlled and finished well. The visitors could have added at least four more now though Haxey finished the game well pulling one back and bringing a fine save out of
Payne.
A good pre season work out, Man of the match was Billy Stafford non stop and two great goals with top performances from Mitch Oakley and debutant George White.

This Sunday we have our 2nd annual Tick Tock Tony Memorial game vs Kings Arms in Haxey to celebrate the Memory of Tony himself!! This year it’s away at Haxey and it’d be great if we had the support of the lads and support of the cause. Kick off is 10.30am in Haxey, then back the our hosts for a few bevvies & a bit of food. The festivities continue back at HQ for 4.30pm where Newcastle take on Liverpool in their first league game. As some of you know, Tick Tock Tony’s family are somewhat keen Newcastle fans 😉.

Kings arms reserves continued their winning start to pre season with a comfortable victory against Morton Reserves.

The instructions were clear, get the ball down and keep it, which the lads did all 1st half. Ollie law and mitch clayton linking up well on the right and Bradshaw and kitchinson on the left causing all sorts of problems to the oposistion.

Rich willet got his first of the afternoon on the 30min mark lobbing the keeper from 25 yards, to make it 1-0. The second goal soon came with some great work down the right by law standing up a cross for willet to nod home for 2.

This became the theme of the morning getting the ball out wide and crossing into the box and willet again was on hand to tap it in for 3. Again Kings kept pushing again the ball comes in and this time ollie law finds the net. Finally will taylor after a scramble in the box calmly slots in his effort to make it 5.

After so much dominance Kings were always susceptible to switch off and a long ball over the top allowed the morton player to lob the goalkeeper to claim 1 back. Late on in the second half good work from the morton attacker forced the kings LB into a tackle that resulted in a penalty. Up steps ben Payne 💪 saving well to his left great save 👏

All in all on a hot day, hard pitch and constant squad rotation the lads should be very proud of their achievements and look forward to next week against albertos reserves.

Special mention to Callum Lawson for his run that resulted in a front roll with nobody near him earning the wa**er of the week award 🤣🤣

Pre season friendly match report,

Kings reserves 1

Kings reserves started their pre season with a fine performance against a good side. From the start Kings dominated the ball and if not for a couple of goal mouth scrambles and the frame of the goal should really have entered half time a couple of goals up.

The second half was pretty much the same as the first even though 7 changes were made every 30 mins to give all players game time.

Late on in the second half Mitch Clayton picked up the ball from an acute angle and hit a long range effort (maybe a cross we can't be sure! 🤣 to put the game to bed and see Kings reserves get their pre season off to a winning start.

Special mention to all the lads that turned up today, in hot conditions on a very hard pitch they tried to play where they could and all put a good shift in 👏👏👏
