At about the half-way point in the season - it's been a very successful start. Played 12 / Won 8 / Drawn 2 and Lost 2.

There have been 6 names for the honours board - hundreds for Oliver Atkinson (2), and one each for Will Atkinson and George Barnes. And then five wickets for Matthew Stickland, Tim Lawrence and Josh Haslett.

There are some familiar names at the top of the run charts (or one familiar name with three different initials) and then some less familiar names at the top of the wicket charts... 1 wicket separating Matthew Stickland, Josh Haslett, Tim Lawrence, Rupert Hetherington and Wayne Harfield.

The sixes and village party last week was an epic affair filled with Rum, Pimms, Beer and sixes. A herculean effort to everyone who made it such a success Tim Clay, James Atkinson, Tim Lawrence, Dave Rees Ian Cook and Nick Cran Crombie.

Lots of beer drunk, food eaten, music danced to and nearly £2k raised for local causes in and around the village. So thank you all for your support and see you next year.

Massive congratulations to Josh Haslett who took 5-5 off five overs and picked up his cap in the process... Another name for the honours board (and not before time).

He's been there or thereabouts for a number of years - and yesterday against the Court House finally got his first five-fer. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he's on the honours board with a hundred. He fell an agonising 100 runs short yesterday😀

At the (near) half-way point in the season - it's played 10, won 7, drawn 2 and lost one.

Yesterday's (unlikely) victory over Hawkley set up by a fine 100 from Will Atkinson and then 5-15 from Tim Lawrence including a hat trick to end the match with them needing 15 off the last two overs.

Five different names on the honours board from the first 10 games, a three way tie between Tim Lawrence, Matthew Stickland and Wayne Harfield for the club's leading wicket taker and some family names at the top of the runs chart with Oliver Atkinson leading his brothers to a club 1, 2 and 3.

Captain Scotts this weekend, then the sixes and beer festival on the 27th. See you there.

A cracking start to the season, four games in and three convincing wins and a draw – over 1,000 runs scored (917 of them off the bat) and two hundreds (George Barnes v Clanfield and Oliver Atkinson v Lynchmere) along with 50s for Alasdair Wheeler, O Atkinson, James Atkinson (two unbeaten) and R Smith.

Matthew Stickland tops the wicket charts following his 5-13 v Lynchmere with Wayne Harfield just behind.

Away this weekend v Newport Inn followed by home matches for the rest of May.

Come and enjoy the sunshine and support EMCC.

And don’t forget, the annual sixes and village party on 27th June – put it in the diary now!

Great day yesterday at the sixes. Thanks everyone who came and supported the club and village.

We’ve found a phone if you’ve lost one. Come up to the club this afternoon and reclaim it.

Another date for the diary - it's the big East Meon party / beer festival / food / music / dancing / cricket / sunshine jamboree.

And it's on the 29th June.

We've been told it'll be sunny and warm and that the band rocks and the DJ has dusted down her finest collection of rare vinyl and so it's time for YOU to dust down your mid-summer dancing clothes and come down to the cricket pitch for a great night of people, beer, food, dancing and mischief.
