Wintry day down at muirend pavillion seen the blues take on W Academy on a bit of a rough grass surface.

The blues spurned a few chances early on before W Academy had a brief spell that saw them take the lead with a well taken strike from their centre midfield breaking into the box from a throw-in.

This seemed to unnerve the boys and it took them a bit of time to find their way and get a foothold in a scrappy game.

They levelled the game after some good passing from defence into midfield led to a cracking through ball from Mason and Max finished first time with a low strike from 15 yards into the bottom left corner.

The Blues had the better of the chances in the first half but W Academy always posed a threat and rattled the post on the stroke of halftime.

After regrouping at halftime, we were on the front foot but the pitch seemed to be the winner during that period and a number of chances went begging.

We finally got a well deserved 2nd after some fine football down the right that seen Noah break through the defensive line and play in Ruairidh who applied a neat finish past the keeper.

W Academy again posed a threat on the counter and nearly equalised after a break of the ball seen their centre forward lob Nathan only for Mason to clear off the line.

The Blues finally got a well-deserved third after some good football seen another W Academy toe poke the ball clear, only for Cal to strike a great looping shot from 20 yards that ended up in the roof of the net.

MOTM went to Enzo for another fine performance leading the line and Rhys for his sheer tenaciousness displayed throughout.

A Beautiful January morning, and the Blues took on Helensburgh at K-Park.

After a fairly even opening 10 minutes, the Blues started to get a bit of control on the game, forced a couple of corners and Kai managed to open the scoring from the ball breaking to him from a corner with a cracking right foot from the edge of the box into the far corner.

Ruairidh then followed up with a cracking finish after a nice through ball from Lewis, cutting back in on his right and firing the ball past the keeper.

Jack then got on the scoresheet after a cutback from Ruiraidh found him on the six yard line during 2nd phase of keeping it alive after a another corner.

Arthur then played Max in down the right wing and good show of strength seen him brush off the fullback and right foot finish found its way past their keeper.

Kai added his 2nd and the Blues 5th just before halftime after a sharp 1-2 with Ruairidh and cooly slotted it past the keeper from 8 yards out.

The Blues started 2nd half the same way they finished the 1st although the Helensburgh keeper was having a fine game to keep them at bay.

Ruairidh added another two in the 2nd half, the first from a well weighted through ball from Kerr and the second after a nice through ball from Rhys.

A very late consolation goal from Helenburgh was a cracking strike that Nathan didn’t have a chance with but it didn’t spoil the mood of the boys after a well deserved win.

Special mention to Jack, who played his last game for the Blues today after 5 years, another great captains performance from him and best wishes to him on his football journey 👏🏻

In what can only be described as a horrible morning weather-wise, the Blues travelled across to the other side of the city to play top of the league Knightswood.

The boys put the weather to the back of their minds and put in a great effort right from the start.

They were unlucky to find themselves a goal down at halftime, despite having the better of the chances playing into the wind. Nothing Nathan could do about the goal as the ball was floated in just under the crossbar from a free-kick om the edge of the box.

Halftime, regroup and the boys came out with even more fight and determination, almost scoring from a fine move straight from kick off.

A few minutes later, Mason drew the Blues level with a lovely side foot finish that he met on the run from a well worked cutback by Enzo.

Enzo put in a tireless shift and got his reward after following up on a shot by Kai that the keeper struggled to hold and Enzo forced it over the line.

The blues were firmly on top at this stage and got a deserved third when Mason slid Max in on the right hand edge of the box. A shift and fine right foot finish into the bottom corner beyond the keepers outstreched hand gave the Blues a bit of breathing space.

It was needed after a rare Knightswood attack led to a good cross ball between keeper and defender with striker bearing down, and a break of the ball seen the ball ricochet past Nathan.

However 3-2 scoreline was more than deserved on the balance of play and chances created.

The whole squad made a valuable contribution with special mention to joint MOTM Mason for another impressive centre midfield performance and Enzo for an excellent effort up top as lone striker.

A wet Sunday morning seen the Blues take on Po***ck in another close encounter between the teams.
The Blues started well, pressing all over the pitch and playing some good passing football. They deservedly went ahead midway through first half with a goal from a corner delivered by Jack that found its way to Mason to score from 6 yards out.
Halftime and 1-0 to the Blues with the only issue being that it should have been more.
Po***ck came out in the 2nd half and the game was far more in the balance, although the Blues failed to capitalise on a couple of gilt-edged chances.
Po***ck managed an equaliser midway through the 2nd half before scoring the winner with about 5 to go.
Another close, competitive game that the boys and coaches were disappointed to come out on the wrong side of, but can only praise the effort that was put in by the full squad 🔶🔷

Disappointing morning for the Blues as we suffered a 5-1 defeat to Knightswood at K-Park.
Despite a promising start, where the Blues completely dominated the first 25 minutes and missed a number of chances including a shot off the post, we found ourselves 2-0 down with literally two breakaways.
This gave Knightswood encouragement and put a few of the heads down in the Blues team.
Halftime and a reset and the Blues had the better of the opening exchanges before conceding a free-kick, around 25 yards out.
Knightswood were again clinical and scored a pearler high into the top left corner which poor Nathan couldn't reach.
Despite there being around 20 minutes left, this seemed to put a number of the Blues boys heads down again and Knightswood took full advantage of some passive play that followed from the Blues.
They managed to add another two with a late excellent left foot finish into the bottom corner from Max B offering scant consolation.
Everyone disappointed and frustrated as the squad know they can perform at a far better level.
A period of self-reflection required before we go again at training during the week 🔷🔶

Excellent effort by the boys this morning despite some incredibly challenging conditions.
The Blues were on top early on and were unlucky not to be ahead prior to Rhys scoring with a deflected shot after taking advantage of a quick throw-in.
Nathan also pulled off an excellent save at the feet of the Troon centre forward after a rare counter attack.
The Blues kicked on after halftime with goals from Rhys, Kerr and a fine finish from Enzo.
A missed penalty towards the end didn't dampen the spirits and a well deserved win for the Blues to make it 4 wins from 5.
Onto training next week to continue the journey. 👍

MotM - Mason and Rhys for their tireless work and being in position in midfield 👏
A wee mention to Jack for coming along to support the boys after missing out through injury. A few injuries in the squad at the minute, hopefully the boys are on the mend soon 🔷🔶

Full credit to the blues today for digging in and securing a well deserved win against a strong Glasgow Athletic side. Great to see the determination, organization and hard work paying off especially during the second half of the game. A fitting way to see Max S off in his final game for the Blues. Best wishes to Glasgow Athletic White for the rest of the season. 🔶🔷 Kilbryde Hospice East Kilbride FC Grassroots
