How does it feel to relieve tension in your back and hips?
If you've been sitting or standing for long periods, your back or hips might be tight and/or ache. Our bodies were designed to move regularly, but often we find ourselves sitting or standing in the same position for an hour or more, and suddenly we're stiff or in pain.
🌟Try this lovely hip and back release to feel immediate benefits:
Find somehere to lie down on your back, such as your mat/bed/rug/carpet.
Bend your left leg, placing the sole of the foot down, and cross your right ankle over the top of your left thigh. You can use your right hand to gently press away your right thigh, opening your hip. Keep your shoulders relaxed.
Allow your legs to gently drift down towards the left side, using your left hand on your right knee here if that's helpful. Don't worry if your foot doesn't reach the floor.
Bend your right arm at a 90 degree angle on the floor and, if it feels okay in your neck, gaze towards your right elbow.
Take a few deep breaths like this, then repeat on the other side.
