Congratulations to Georgia Silk and Holly Thompson who came 5th and 7th respectively in the Individual Event at last weekend's British Senior Championships. Well done also on their 7th place (with Darcy Attwood) in the team event.

A big thanks to Head Coach, Pierre Harper, who looked after them all.

A fantastic weekend for Newham Swords at the Wratislava Challenge International.
All ten fencers were able to set personal bests and were a great support for one another.

Massive congratulations to Sophia Chu who took GOLD in the U11 Girls (out of 146 fencers), achieving her first international podium finish, and to James Hernon who came 5th in the U15 Boys (out of 189 fencers), also achieving his first international podium finish!!

Well done also to:

U13 Boys (209 Fencers)
Axel Ansah: 15th
Nathan Gollen: 49th
Ran Hu: 64th

All three boys have never fenced in an international event before so there results are outstanding!

U13 Girls (192 Fencers):

Well done to Newham Swords Fencing Club which took two medals at the Public Schools Championships this week.

Congratulations to Darcy Attwood who took Gold in the Girls Mount-Hayes Foil event, and to James Hernon who took Silver in the Boys Junior Foil. Well done also to club-mate, Ethan Hu, who came 18th in the Boys Junior Event.

Congratulations to our three U14 fencers who all achieved personal bests at the Paris CEP Marathon Tournament this weekend:

Well done to:

Veronika Kushtan, (aged just twelve years), who achieved 34th place (out of 157 fencers), after narrowly missing the last 32 on the last hit!

Farah Viegas-Trimble, (also aged 12 years), who came 64th, also after missing out on the last 32 on the last hit!

Sophia Chu, (aged just ten years), who fenced superbly to achieve 70th place in her first international appearance at U14 level!

A big shout out to our Head Coach, Pierre Harper, who did a great job of looking after them all!

Thanks also to those parents who attended this competition and supported Farah, Sophia and Veronika.

A great day at the office for Newham Swords Fencing Club which took five trophies and nine medals in total, at the Eastern Region Youth Championships/British Youth Championships (BYC) Qualifier held last weekend!!
