Wanted to share an interesting contradiction I noticed this morning at the session.
I arrived to set up todays session to a field, road and pitch covered in leftover firework debris, broken bottles and used packaging everywhere. I was disheartened that people would treat a shared space like this but shortly after starting the tidy children began to arrive for the 9am session ready and eager to workout and that’s when the contradiction hit me.
On the one hand we had the people taking the lazy, undisciplined route of not cleaning up after themselves contrasted with the determination of primary age children who willingly wake up early every Sunday morning to train, learn new skills and voluntarily conduct themselves with discipline.
These are the children that are creating the discipline now so they can reap the benefits when they are older. Such a important life skill, arguably the most important, and these kids are shining examples.
