3 MATCHES. 3 DAYS.

Hoping the rain doesn’t have other ideas this week… At this rate, we’ll still be playing cricket in October!

A busy few days ahead:
Tonight - Away at Riding Mill, 6pm
Tomorrow - Away at Beamish, 6pm
Friday night - Home to Lanchester, 6pm

Fingers crossed the weather stays kind and we can get all three games played.

Huge thanks to our sponsors Stacked & Smashed for their continued support.

Come on Sacriston! ❤️🖤

That time again! It’s late this year!!

Me & Angela Dooley Burnip are doing the GNR again… no surprise there!

We’re raising money for The Sick Children’s Trust because we’ve seen first-hand the difference their support can make to families going through the unimaginable.

Our beautiful little family members, twins Edie and Edward, were born by C-section at 37 weeks. At just 10 days old, Edward became critically ill and was rushed to A&E, where he was taken straight into resuscitation. He was then transferred by blue-light ambulance to the RVI in Newcastle, where he was diagnosed with a collapsed lung and pneumonia.

Edward spent two weeks in the RVI, over an hour away from home. During what was an incredibly frightening and difficult time, his parents, Luke and Lucy, were faced with every parent’s worst nightmare - watching their tiny baby fight for his health while trying to hold everything else together.

Alongside worrying about Edward and spending as much time as possible by his side, Luke and Lucy also had to continue looking after their other children, Jude and Edie, and try to maintain some sense of normality for them. They were having to navigate the fear and uncertainty of having a seriously ill baby in hospital, while still being parents to their other children and making sure they felt safe, loved and cared for.

No parent should have to face that kind of situation, and having to split themselves between hospital and home made an already heartbreaking experience even harder.

Thankfully, The Sick Children’s Trust provided the family with a place to stay at Crawford House, allowing them to remain close to Edward throughout his treatment while also giving the family somewhere to come together. Having that support meant they didn’t have to worry about travelling over an hour home after spending long and exhausting days at the hospital, and it helped them stay together as a family during such an incredibly difficult time.

For Jude and Edie, having somewhere to call home and somewhere familiar for their family to be together while their baby brother was so poorly meant so much. It helped bring some comfort and normality to a situation that was anything but normal.

As family members, we saw how much Luke and Lucy had to cope with during those weeks. They had to be strong for their children while dealing with fear, exhaustion and worry that no parent should ever have to experience. The support provided by The Sick Children’s Trust took away just one of the many things they had to worry about and allowed them to focus on what mattered most - their family.

That’s why we’ve decided to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust. We want to help them continue providing this lifeline to other families who find themselves facing the same unimaginable circumstances.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can help another family stay together and close to their seriously ill child when they need it most.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for supporting such an important charity. ❤️
