LEAGUE GAME 4
League Game 4 saw the lads take on Newton Aycliffe Juniors FC, and what a performance it was from start to finish.
The lads put on a fantastic display of football, combining some brilliant passing and movement with some outstanding individual moments and, most importantly, some great goals.
We got off to the perfect start with Jack Auston opening the scoring, before Joe Wilson produced a moment of real quality, lifting a fantastic chip over the keeper to make it 2-0.
Then came the third, and it was Hoggy who produced a bit of magic, flicking the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net.
Jack Auston was on the scoresheet again for number four, but the credit has to go to Shay Simmons for an absolute beauty of a pass a Pirlo-esque ball that carved the defence open and left Jack with the perfect opportunity to finish.
And just before the break, Hoggy popped up again to grab his second of the afternoon and make it 5-0 at half-time.
The second half brought a completely different challenge.
With around 40 minutes still to play, we were reduced to 10 men after our keeper was shown a red card. That could have changed the momentum of the game, but the lads dug deep, showed tremendous character and continued to battle.
A special shoutout to Agar, who stepped up and took over in goal. 👏🧤 Not only did he put in a fantastic shift between the sticks, but he also helped the lads secure the clean sheet despite playing a man down for a large portion of the second half.
And there was still time for one more big moment...
That man Jack Auston again!
Jack completed his hat-trick to put the icing on the cake and wrap up a fantastic performance from the lads.
Massive credit to every single player who put a shift in today. Going down to 10 men for 40 minutes could have made things difficult, but the lads stuck together, worked for each other and got the job done.
