DEERNESS VALLEY 7️⃣ – 5️⃣ WASHINGTON JAGUARS ⚽️🔥

What a shift from the lads today! 🧡⚡️

We only had the bare 5 players today with no subs, playing a full 40-minute match in 20-degree heat ☀️🥵 — and every single one of them gave absolutely everything right up until that final whistle.

⚽️ Goals:

⭐️ Zach – Stepped up today and went in goal. He absolutely loves a turn in nets when needed and always looks so comfortable back there. Some great saves and another brilliant performance! 🧤👏

⭐️ Bailey – Solid at the back as always and what a goal! A beauty from his own half 🚀⚽️ You could see the confidence growing throughout the game.

⭐️ Harrison – Two goals today and took them both in his stride. Battled forward, kept pushing and never gave up. 💪⚽️

⭐️ Louie – A hat-trick for Louie! 🔥⚽️⚽️⚽️ Head up, kept going and kept battling until the very end. What a performance!

⭐️ Freddie – A lovely goal put away by Freddie today! ⚽️👏 Never gave up, kept chasing and kept going and going right until the final whistle.

We definitely started to tire in the second half — which is no surprise after playing the full game with no substitutes in that heat — but they still refused to stop battling. 💪🔥

Another pre-season friendly tonight massive thanks to Shincliffe juniors ⚽️❤️

A team two divisions higher than us, 25 degree heat and our boys absolutely battled right until the very end! 💪🏼 What a game it was — so close, so competitive and a brilliant test for the lads.

The final score Shincliffe 7–6, the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story. These boys never gave up, kept fighting for every ball and pushed a team two divisions above them all the way to the final whistle. 👏🏼

6 fantastic goals scored by Louie, Harrison & Zach ⚽️🔥 — what a brilliant attacking performance!

Bailey & JJ were strong at the back, putting in some brilliant challenges and making sure they were right in the fight whenever Washington came forward. 💪🏼

Archie pulled off some great saves and kept us in the game when we needed him. 🧤👏🏼

Freddie was getting stuck in, battling for every ball and driving forward whenever he got the chance. 💪🏼

And every single one of the boys deserves credit tonight. To take on a team two divisions higher and come within one goal of them shows just how much these lads are capable of. ❤️

So much to be proud of tonight boys! The fight, determination and never-give-up attitude was brilliant to watch.

What a day for our Deerness Valley boys! ❤️⚽️🏆

Every single one of you gave absolutely EVERYTHING today. The effort, determination, teamwork and never-give-up attitude was incredible to watch. You should all be so, so proud of yourselves! ❤️

Louie — outstanding! You played like you have never been away from our team. The looking up, the passing, the shooting and, most importantly, THE FINISHING! ⚽️🔥 4 goals today, including a hat-trick! You ran your little socks off, chased every single ball down and did us SO proud. What a comeback! Massive well done Louie! 👏❤️

Bailey — solid at the back as always! You have certainly found your feet in defence and put in some really important tackles. And then you went and scored an absolute cracker from our own goal, which ultimately helped get us the win in the final! 😱⚽️ What a goal and what a moment! You should be so proud of yourself! ❤️

Zach — like a little lizard all over that pitch! 🦎😂 Always tracking back, helping your teammates and never giving up. You scored such an important goal for us, helping keep those points coming and our goal difference racking up! Solid performance as always Zach — you never stop! ❤️👏

JJ — fantastic at the back again! Putting in some really important tackles, never stopping running and putting in some serious graft in every single game. You give absolutely everything for your team and it shows. Well done JJ! ❤️⚽️

Archie — WOW! 😱🧤 You made save after save after save today! You just kept bouncing back up and throwing yourself at everything, keeping that final alive and keeping hope alive for our team. Even when it was tough, you kept your head held high and never gave up. What a performance! Massive well done Archie! ❤️👏

Harrison — TWO absolute belters of free kicks! 🔥⚽️ You battled for every ball and helped your teammates massively in defence. And the slide tackles… 😂 I honestly never thought I’d see the day! One of the only teams to beat them! We watched them, we knew exactly what we were up against and, if I’m being honest, there wasn’t much faith that we’d come away with the win 😂… but these boys went into that game with a positive, never-say-die, CAN-DO attitude and they absolutely BELIEVED til the very end…

What a massive achievement in itself. You didn’t let the name, the reputation or what you’d seen before the game scare you. You backed yourselves, fought for each other and got the result.

That is what this team is all about. ❤️

Deerness Valley Thunder U9’s will be kitted out for the next 2 years courtesy of Siblings Nursery in Sunderland.

Siblings will become our new front of shirt sponsor for both the 26/27 and 27/28 seasons.

We want to thank Joanne from Siblings nursery for her kind offer and generosity in providing these for the boys and also to welcome them on board across our social media as we will be promoting them across all platforms via any club related information we post.
