Coxhoe Blacks 7–2 Washington
Coxhoe Blacks produced a sensational second-half performance to storm past Washington 7–2 in league action, rounding off 2025 in unforgettable fashion.
The game kicked off with Washington firmly on the front foot, dominating possession and territory throughout the opening 30 minutes. Coxhoe found chances hard to come by and managed just one real opportunity in the first half, but it was taken brilliantly as Sattam slotted home to keep us in the contest. Despite that, Washington’s pressure told and we went into the break trailing 2–1, looking depleted and second best.
At half-time, some strong words and clear tactical guidance from myself and coach Ben focused on positioning, sharper attacking movement, and being more solid defensively. The message was simple: find a way back into the game.
The response was outstanding. Just five minutes into the second half, some fabulous build-up play saw Coxhoe draw level at 2–2—and from that moment on, there was no stopping us. Goals kept coming as we completely flipped the momentum of the match, hemming Washington into their own box for the vast majority of the second half.
Superb wing play, crisp passing, and relentless pressure tore apart a very good, high-table Washington side. The goals flowed, confidence grew with every attack, and Coxhoe Blacks powered their way to an extraordinary 7–2 victory.
What a way to round off 2025. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Super proud of everyone involved 💙
