📝Match Report: Eyemouth United 4–1 Chirnside United
A windy evening at Warner Park saw us take on Eyemouth, but unfortunately it was a night where we never really found our rhythm.
We started slowly and it took around 25 minutes to get going. By that point, a lapse in concentration had seen us fall 1–0 behind. Jack came closest to finding an equaliser in the first half with a long-range effort which unfortunately deflected off the crossbar.

The second half started in much the same fashion, with us giving away too much possession and conceding too many set pieces. We were punished again as Eyemouth extended their lead to 2–0.
We did manage to get ourselves back into the game through some lovely play from Alan, who was brought down inside the box by an Eyemouth defender. Kyle stepped up from the spot and calmly placed his penalty into the top-right corner to make it 2–1. ⚽️
Unfortunately, the remainder of the game summed up our performance, as we gave the ball away too easily and were caught sleeping at times, allowing Eyemouth to add two further goals and secure a 4–1 victory.
We’ll look forward to the return fixture at Comrades Park and the opportunity to put things right. Good luck to Eyemouth for the rest of the season.
🏆 Man of the Match – Kyle Murray
Tonight’s award goes to Kyle for an outstanding all-round performance, including some crunching tackles 🫣. I don’t think there was a blade of grass he didn’t cover tonight! 👏
It’s back to training on Thursday before another fixture on Sunday, as we make the trip up the A1 to Craigroyston.
