A lot of people still think being healthy means constantly pushing harder, training more and ignoring the warning signs from their body.

But science tells us the exact opposite… 🤔

Your body doesn’t get stronger during training — it gets stronger recovering from it.

If your sleep is poor, your stress is high, your body is constantly sore and your energy is flat, eventually performance starts dropping too.

Recovery isn’t weakness. It’s biology.

Look after your body. Train hard, absolutely… but not at the expense of the one thing you’re trying to improve in the first place.

A lot of people struggle with squats not because they lack strength, but because they lack mobility.

This is a warm-up routine I’ve been using with members at Peak Fitness in Galbally to help improve ankle mobility, hip mobility, squat depth, and overall positioning before lifting.

Full credit to Dr. Aaron Horschig and Squat University for the routine — definitely worth checking out if you want to learn more about mobility, rehab, and lifting mechanics.

And remember, mobility takes time. Don’t worry if your positions don’t look perfect right away. Just focus on improving gradually and moving better week by week 👊

😫 If you’re dealing with constant back pain that affects your day-to-day life — getting in the car, standing up, lifting your kids, walking, training, even sitting down — my first piece of advice is always this:

👉🏻 👉🏻👉🏻 Go and get checked by a qualified professional such as a physiotherapist or doctor

But… if you’re simply dealing with stiffness, weakness, tightness, poor posture, or a lack of core strength, then a routine like this could really help.

The key? Consistency.
Doing it once won’t fix anything. Doing it 2–3 times a week, slowly and with control, over weeks and months? That’s where you can expect to see real results.

Routine:
• 15 Glute Bridges
• 10 Bird Dogs each side
• 10 Dead Bugs each side
• 10 Side Plank Hip Raises each side
• 10 Bear Crawl Shoulder Taps
• 15 Tempo Air Squats
• 10 High Plank Shoulder Taps

Focus on quality over speed.
