Normally at this time of year, I would be excited and looking forward to the start of the season like everyone else. However this season, the first in 6 years I won't be competing the full season.

Thank you though to my amazing sponsors ( Auto Cosmique & KAY Building Contractors Limited) / family, friends and Scottish Legends cars who are continuing to support in the few rounds I'll be doing.

For my amazing sponsors, hopefully you will be able to watch on tv. (Please read link below).

Wish everyone good luck and good racing for the up coming weekend.

See you soon on track.

Last race weekend of the season and a double header, with reverse direction on Sunday.

Saturday weather was just too hot for the engines and tyres. Track temp in the afternoon was approx 42 degrees! 3 points finishes but disappointed with final positions.
After racing, the family headed off for a meal as SJ was participating in the Edinburgh Moonwalk during the night.

Sunday SJ arrived at the garage just after I did - she was knackered, sore but so happy to have completed it! So so proud.

Car was set up for reverse direction with an extra testing session then familiarisation - again felt something missing from the car but the guys checked it out. Just minor things but I know the car can give me more. Things improving each race with the car then rain came on for the final🌧️ β˜”.

Definitely glad I asked the boys to swap tyres as it was surprisingly heavy. Some very interesting moments for a few of us out there. At last the car felt 'right' would love to know how good it would have been if it was dry! Just need to wait til next year πŸ˜†

Time for the usual words of appreciation to 'my' team

All at Scottish Legends cars - Andrew, Tracey, Daz (No1 mechanic), Scott (fellow driver too), Harry, Zoe and newbie Adam. Not forgetting the additional guys: John Bushby and Matt.

Autocosmique ( Jameel Shakil ), Kay Building Contractors ( Allan Kay ), Fuchs, David not forgetting support from the family and Justyna.

Dad - chief belt tightener

Mum - for just being mum and decal provider

Sara Jane - chief (loudest!) cheerleader/ photographer

Shauna - No1 favourite sister and cheerleader/photographer.

Thanks to anyone popping to the garage and their well wishes.

The photographer's for providing amazing shots for all to see (even some of the ones you wish they hadn't!😬😲)

Finally the Marshalls and medical teams without which we wouldn't be on track. They also have to endure the incredible heat we've had though they're more used to the freezing cold and torrential rain too.

Thanks to everyone for mostly good clean fun on track and Congratulations to 3 in a row Champ no 52 Stewart Black / Rookie champ Max / Team champ Chris & Scott.

Not Croft but Knockhill with the Ferrari's!

Saturday's familiarisation with some new tyres and a busy grid of 21 with 5 guests.

Final - Had to change to wets!β˜” but managed to finish 12th (with guests but an actual 9th!) I really enjoyed that race though!

Saturday evening meant back to the old days of socialising with a lovely meal at Kinnairds - Well done Brian and team. But the highlight had to be the return of the Lancaster Bomber (unseen since 2018, with Jon Critchlow and yours truly as the rookie 'victims'). This time the newest recipients of the initiation being no 15 Elby Clark and no 43 Jonty Norman. Well done!

Sunday is reverse direction and only 4 guests today.

Heat 1 - 7 laps under 1.01 but 2 laps under that with a 1.00.759 but PB of 1.00.613 finally got lap times down at last and not for the lack of trying πŸ˜‚

Final - another amazing race again, I had a good battle with Chris Lapit, Elby Clark and Stuart Robertson.

Thanks to the spectators popping up to the garage to express their enjoyment of the action on track (for excitement of a fast paced race with each of the cars being incredible. They had never seen Legends racing before and disappointed to hear we're not all back until September as at Angelsey in August after the BTCC guest slot. Another thought Legends are more exciting than the Ferrari's πŸ˜‚πŸ€

Thanks to David and Jane for coming up (Sat).

Sunday - Jamel and Craig.

Great to meet Nigel and Dave and thanks for all the photos.
Glad you all had a great day.

To the many photographers who take their time to take photos of all the cars, it's much appreciated. Some fantastic action photos.

As always many thanks to all my sponsors and my team

And we're back!

The numbers are good with 19 on the grid. 2 testing sessions prior to Familiarisation then on to racing.

Brilliant to be back in the car. Should have known though for balldraw I would draw pole! CHEERS! Thanks for that!!

Saturday

Race 1: So started on pole position but got swamped and dropped back. The only thing to do was to try fight my way back up through the pack. A sign that it would be hard work all weekend needing to fight until I crossed the finish line 9th.

Race 2: 16th on the grid but finished 6th

Final: finished 13th

Sunday

Race 1 : 9th on the grid and finished 8th

Race 2: 8th on the grid and finished 11th

Final: finished 13th.

Regardless of where we started, car 15 and I always seemed to be battling each other, but guaranteed some good clean fun.

My appreciation as always to everyone at Scottish legends cars -Andrew , Daz, Davie, Scott, Harry (The Polisher!) All my sponsors Auto-cosmique, Fuchs lubricants, Jim Dickson Tyres and new sponsor Kay Building Contractors Ltd.

After the usual winter rebuild , it's finally the first testing session!

A huge thanks to Scottish Legends Cars for the work in getting the car ready, Autocosmique for the body repair/panel respray and MacDonald Transport Ltd for their help to transport the body shell.

Testing.

Despite the weather, 5 great sessions.
First session making sure car is all good and working properly. The next sessions were about bedding in new parts and me getting into the swing of things again , after a looooong 6 months .

Delighted to say that in between sessions, #30 secured another sponsor for this year. 😁

I would like to thank Allan Kay , from Kay Building Contractors Limited for coming on board for this season and look forward to having you up at the races.

For their continued hard work and support, last year and going forward for this season, I'd like to thank

Autocosmique (Jamel and Lynne)

Fuchs lubricants

Kay Building Contractors Limited (Allan)

Media girl/loudest cheerleader (Sara Jane)

What a race weekend! Hoping the the car would hold out after the last few rounds.🀞
Just needed to get back out and race. (Just like team mate Scott)
Race 2 enjoyed duelling with no .23 Mark Reid but the final was amazing!😁. Started 3rd, after 1 lap fell back to 4th but held that whilst battling with no. 15 Elby Clark until lap 8 when no. 22 passed me so #30 finished in 5th place🏁

As always my appreciation to Scottish Legend Cars and my quiet fan club.

Round 4/5 update.

Well the weather was certainly good with high track temp, causing some tyre issues for a few drivers.
Definitely not the weekend I'd hoped for due to different engine issues. Reverse direction may no longer be my favourite 🀣🀣. Hopefully be back for the next round🀞. But I enjoyed what time I had out on track, as always down to the amazing crew @ Scottish Legends Cars (Andrew, Daz and Davie). Definitely the A team, including fellow drivers helping to get me back out. Lovely to see sponsor Auto-cosmique & family at the track and my 'quiet' cheering squad at the hairpin (having spent these last few races with them!πŸ€―πŸ˜„ as we all cheer on other drivers!)
Thanks to the photographers who have kindly shared some amazing photos from the weekend.

Guess that's Motorsport. 😜

After the disappointment of the last race weekend, looking forward to being back out again for Rounds 4/5. Reverse direction on Saturday with clockwise on Sunday.

Fingers crossed for the weather.

After many hours,
6 rolls of masking tape
20 sanding disks
2 gallons of panel wipe
2 gallons of thinners
Unknown quantity of paint
What seems like millions of metal flakes

This is the final reveal of the new colour scheme for #30 showcasing the quality work of Autocosmique.

Thank you to Jameel Shakil ( Autocosmique) and Sara-Jane Gibson (SJ photography) for photos 🀣.

FUCHS website magazine updated from July round.

Thanks FUCHS for the support.

With beautiful weather and hot temperatures both on and off the track, the racing was frantic and very close at Knockhill for the latest round of the Scottish Legends Championship.
