Talks Conclude Between DJR Sports Ltd and SSIHC Ltd Regarding Future of Solway Sharks.
SSIHC Ltd can confirm that discussions with DJR Sports Ltd regarding the future operation of the Solway Sharks Ice Hockey Club have now formally concluded.
Throughout the dialogue, both parties engaged constructively and in good faith, with a shared understanding of the importance of the club to its supporters and the wider community. We thank DJR Sports Ltd for their time and cooperation during this process.
Following careful consideration, SSIHC Ltd has taken the decision to move forward independently and will not be pursuing the transfer or acquisition of assets from DJR Sports Ltd. As a result, all matters relating to pre-sold sponsorship agreements and 2026/27 season tickets remain the responsibility of DJR Sports Ltd.
Important Information for Supporters, Sponsors, and Stakeholders.
Sponsorships & Season Tickets: All individuals and organisations who have purchased sponsorship packages or season tickets for the 2026/27 season should now contact DJR Sports Ltd directly regarding refunds or further information. We understand the importance of clarity and transparency at this time and encourage all affected parties to seek prompt communication.
SSIHC Ltd is now focused on establishing a new, sustainable future for NIHL ice hockey in the region. Our group of directors remains fully committed to ensuring the continuation of the sport at a competitive level and to rebuilding strong relationships with supporters, sponsors, and the local community.
Our talks are very positive with Dumfries and Galloway Council, and we are expecting to have a deal concluded in the very near future.
Further updates regarding next steps, including club structure, participation, and supporter engagement, will be communicated in due course.
