🟨⬛️Season Review 🟨⬛️

After a long season we would like to thank each and every member for their contribution during the 2025/26 season.

In the words of our leader Archibald C. Murray ‘there is a vibrancy about the place’

Let’s hope that continues and the club continues to grow on and off the green.

Special mention has to go to Andy in the office for all his efforts over the past 8 months👏👏👏👏

🟨Opening Hours during summer ⬛️

The club will be open between 10 am and 12 noon every Tuesday morning from Tuesday 21 April 2026 for the duration of the break for anyone wishing to play bounce or if you have any queries.

This year's Annual Fees are now due, and should be paid by the end of April.

Annual Fees are
4 years + £75,
3rd year £60
2nd year £50
New Members £35
Associates are £30.

Fees can be paid by cash or cheque at the Club, or by Bank Transfer.

🟨⬛️🟨 2026 Fours Final 🟨⬛️🟨

This evening the saw last Final of the 2026 season and it was the Gents Fours.

Kenny Paton’ team took on Graeme Sloan’ team over 21 ends or 4 Hours.

A run of 13 shots without reply in the middle of the game was key to Craig Martin, Michael Connolly jun, Gary Brown & Kenny Paton taking control despite a fightback from Michael Connolly sen, Robert Sloan jun, Michael Keenan & Graeme Sloan, Team Paton saw out the match to claim the title.

Well done to all 8 players on fine display

Good luck to Kenny n co in the Nationals next season 👏👏👏

Thanks to everyone who made it possible to complete all our Nationals this season and I’m sure the members will see an easier schedule next season. 👍

🟨⬛️2026 Ladies Pairs Final 🟨⬛️

This evening saw the last final for the Ladies for this season and it was repeat of the 2 Bowl Pairs Final from last Friday night as Leah & Jessica Hopkinson took on Anna Duncan & Michelle Sloan.

The assembled crowd were treated to high quality game with all 4 players playing at the top of their game.

Anna / Michelle managed to start better before being pegged back before going infront again and managing to fend off a spirited comeback late on from Leah / Jessica to take the title.

Well Done to Anna / Michelle 🏆
Great effort from Leah / Jessica 👏

Good luck to Anna / Michelle in the Nationals next year. 👍

🟨⬛️Mixed Singles Final🟨⬛️

This game saw a match up between 2013 DDIBC Champion Michael Connolly jun and recently crowned DDIBC Champion Shaun McCarry.
Michael made much the brighter start leading 8-1.
Shaun hit back to win 7 of next 10 ends to reduce Michael’s lead to 2 shots.
Before Michael got a 1/4 combo to lead 19-12
Shaun saved the game at next end before scoring a 3 to make the score 19-16 to Michael.
Michael then got the 2 required at next end to clinch the 2026 Mixed Singles Title to go with the Mixed Pairs he won last week with his sister Anna. 🏆🏆
Huge thanks to Vice President Michael Keenan for marking. 👏

🟨⬛️Two Bowl Pairs Final 🟨⬛️

Jamie McCarry / Kenny Paton won their Sf earlier in the evening when they got revenge for their 2025 Final defeat to Michael Connolly Sen / Michael Keenan to secure their spot v Brian Neeson / Scott Hardie.
Neeson / Hardie won 10 of the first 14 ends to lead 10-5 / 5-1 before McCarry / Paton won the next 6 ends to take the second set , the tie break and the title.
Well done to Jamie / Kenny and good luck in the nationals next season 🏆

Special mention to Jamie on becoming the youngest winner of a DDIBC National Qualifier at the age of 14.

Mixed Singles and Alongside it will be the Two Bowl Pairs Final.

Scott Hardie & Brian Neeson are already in the Final and will take on the winner of the Semi Final at 6pm between Jamie McCarry / Kenny Paton & Michael Connolly sen / Michael Keenan.
