Final results form the Short Mat Players Tour UK Open:

In the Shield, Mark lost in the last 32 whilst Caroline went one better making the last 16.

In the Plate, Alan lost out in the last 64 and Martin made the last 16. Chris made it the furthest of our players this weekend making the quarter final, losing out to Dan Sands.

After the first day of Short Mat Players Tour UK Open 2026, Martin is currently sitting 3rd in his group, if results go his way tomorrow morning could still make the cup after 2 wins and a draw from his four games.
Chris is also sitting third in his group with 3 wins, whilst Mark is 5th in the same group after one win today. Alan is currently 4th and Caroline 5th in their group after Alan won the game between the two at the end of the day today. Still lots to play for tomorrow!

The Short Mat Players Tour UK Open 2026 draw was completed last night, with 5 of our members making the trip to Chelmsford for the season's opening event.

Martin was drawn in group 6 and has a favourable draw, being second in the group in terms of ranking and win %.

Chris and Mark have been drawn together in group 28 alongside a couple of big names from Ireland, serial winner and current world no 2, Gary McNabb and multiple medalist Martin McNicholl. Making this one of the toughest groups in the competition!

Alan and Caroline have also been drawn into the same group. They will face each other for the first time on the tour, in what could be a very tight group with little to choose between all the players.

Congratulations to the Watson family for another successful competition, raising money for Macmillan.

Also a successful day on the mats for Jon, making the semi final with his team from Liskeard and Ben and Macy who made the final losing out to a very strong team on the last end!

Last night we held our annual presentation evening. With the presentation of the trophies for our in-house competitions, some food and a few games!
