So the final game of the season was here as we faced Nethergreen Gold, the only team to beat us this season in a very close game just before Christmas.

There isn’t much negative to say about our girls this season at all. One of the few is how slow we have started games with so many performances with the proverbial game of two halves. We got caught out with a long ball over the top twice and coupled with the hard ground we didn’t defend either and found ourselves 2-0 down.

Now back to positives, one big shift this year is resilience and never give up attitude. After a water break and a reminder to the girls of what was needed we quickly got back into the game with a goal from Lottie to make it 2-1 at half time.

As has been this case this season we started the 2nd half well and started to see us dominating the game. Attack after attack but no breakthrough. That did finally come though when Emily was put through to make it 2-2.

We continued to dominate but just couldn’t get that goal to secure the win. Whilst on balance we had the most chances, credit the opposition for some great defensive work. So overall probably the right result.

So that’s it, we bounce back at the first attempt with promotion and the league title secured. A fantastic season from a great bunch of girls and extremely supportive set of parents.
