As the Worcester Sunday League season comes to a close, here’s a look across all four divisions 🏆⚽️

Premier League:

The mighty MUD boys didn’t just go unbeaten, they won every single game. Absolute steamroller stuff from start to finish. From trouncing Powick 13-1 on the opening day of the season and knocking them that hard they decided once again that lower leagues was for them, to ending the season with DC United once again deciding they didn’t fancy sharing the pitch with us 🙈

Congratulations to runners up Catshill who fully deserved second place and pushed harder than anyone else. In fairness, if it wasn’t for a last minute Garry Price ponytail flick they’d have taken a draw in what was MUD’s toughest game of the season.

Worcester Athletic came 4th in what they believed was essentially a 2 horse race.

Division 1:

Probably the tightest title race of the lot.

Clifton Rovers eventually got over the line after a huge final day showdown, beating AFC White Hart 4-1 in a winner takes all decider.

Mazak also spent large parts of the season at the top in a really competitive division throughout.

Division 2

Worcester United Cobras eventually powered clear of Ravenhill and AFC Worcester Palace to take the title deservedly after a strong finish to the season.

Meanwhile our young MUD Lions cubs secured 4th place after winning their final 5 matches in a brilliant end to the season 🐮

Division 3

Blackpole, after a shaky start to the season, they recruited strongly before Christmas (helped by MUD folding Powick) bringing in players with experience from much higher levels and it completely changed the division.

Once they got rolling, nobody could really live with them.

Credit as well to Catshill Colts who, in their first season in adult football, pushed hard all year to end runners up.
