💙💛 Sponsored Walk 💛💙

Our U10s are lacing up their walking boots and taking on a 6.5 mile sponsored walk to help raise funds for an unforgettable football trip to Holland in March 2027! 🇳🇱⚽

The route will take us from Drighlington Community Sports Club to The Greyhound and The Bankhouse in Pudsey, via Goodalls Farm (with a well-earned ice cream stop 🍦), before heading all the way back again.

The walk is all part of our fundraising efforts for the team's Holland tour in March 2027. It's a fantastic opportunity for the players to test themselves against new opposition, experience football in a different country, and represent Drighlington Juniors with pride.

Any support you can give is greatly appreciated by everyone involved.

Thank you in advance for supporting our footballing adventurers as they swap boots for walking shoes for the day! 👏⚽

Another busy midweek training session for our U10s! 💙💛

This week saw the classic warm-up of footwork training using the agility ladder. Judging by the number of tongues sticking out in concentration, you'd have thought the players were trying to solve world peace rather than move their feet through a few squares! 😝👅

Passing was the main focus of the evening, although some players seemed determined to turn it into a push-up workout instead. Strange how every wayward pass kept leading to extra fitness... a mystery we'll probably never solve. 🤷‍♂️

Lots of hard work, plenty of laughs, and another great session under the belt. Well done everyone! ⚽👏

A great day at our home gala today, with plenty of football, plenty of smiles and plenty of memories made.

The results may not have quite gone the way we were hoping, but the effort, teamwork and attitude from all of our players certainly did. As always, they represented the club brilliantly and should be proud of themselves.

In what may be the biggest shock of the entire day, Coach James was apparently the only coach who remembered to take a team photo! 📸😂

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise, volunteer, support and cheer on the sidelines. Events like today don't happen without an army of people working behind the scenes.

Now it's time for a well-earned rest... at least until the next gala comes around! ⚽💙💛

By tonight you'll either be celebrating landing one of the tournament favourites or frantically Googling where your team is and whether they've ever kicked a football before. 🌍😂

Whatever happens, someone's going to be convinced they've got the winning team before a ball has even been kicked.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved with ‘Wear It Green’ Day 💚

It was brilliant to see so many children, parents and coaches taking part — including Coach Joel, who turned up in mint… which after some debate has officially been accepted as “green enough” 😅

We had retro kits, shirts, jackets, jumpers and even green socks making an appearance across training.

More importantly, it gave us a chance to support a fantastic cause and help keep conversations around mental health going both on and off the pitch.

💚⚽ This week is Mental Health Awareness Week ⚽💚

At football training we work on passing, shooting and teamwork… but just as important is making sure our players know it’s okay to talk, support each other and look after their mental wellbeing too.

Football is more than just the game — it’s friendships, confidence, laughter, encouragement and being part of a team that has your back on and off the pitch 💚

On Thursday 14th it is 'Wear It Green Day' to help raise awareness and support for mental health. So whether it’s green socks, green tops, green hats or full-on luminous chaos… we'd love to see you all get involved! 🟢😂

A reminder to all our players, parents and coaches: Be kind. Check in on each other. And never be afraid to talk.
