Head down tomorrow morning in what is set to be a great game of rugby from our superstars!!

This week they take to the field against Stanningley.

Please allow plenty of time for parking as there is a football gala and spaces are limited!! Please be considerate of the residents living near by!

As another fantastic season of memories, learning and fun continues, we want to take a moment to thank the incredible volunteers who make Drighlington U7s possible.

To our coaches, who give up their evenings and weekends to help our children develop skills, confidence and a love for rugby. To our first aiders, who are always there when needed. To our gameday managers, who help to make game days run smoothly. And to all the parents and family members who volunteer their time, support the team and help create such a positive environment.

Rugby is about so much more than what happens on the pitch. It’s about friendships, teamwork, resilience, respect, laughter and memories that our children will carry with them for years to come. None of that happens without the dedication, commitment and generosity of our volunteers.

Thank you for every early morning, every training session, every match day and every moment you give to help make this team special.

You are helping to create memories that will last a lifetime for our children, and we are incredibly grateful.

A much cooler morning today as we headed over for a friendly with Siddal RL U7’s.

As always, fantastic rugby on display, great attacking runs, fabulous defensive tagging and so much energy from both sides.

Rest in peace Paul- from all of Drighlington U7’s.

A true Drighlington gent 💛🖤

It is with great sadness that Drighlington ARLFC share the passing of Paul Child.

Paul was far more than a familiar face around our club — he was one of the founding members who helped build the foundations of what we proudly have today. His dedication, loyalty, and unwavering support over many years has left a lasting mark on the club and everyone connected to it.

For Paul, the club was never just a club — it was a second home. It was a place where lifelong friendships were built, memories were shared, and where he became part of a rugby family that loved and respected him dearly.

Paul was known and respected by generations of players, supporters, volunteers, and visitors alike. Whether attending home or away matches, supporting events at the club, lending a helping hand whenever needed, or simply spending time amongst friends, Paul was always at the heart of our rugby family.

Many will also remember the care and pride he took in maintaining the beautiful hanging baskets and planters at our clubhouse, helping create the warm and welcoming environment that so many people enjoy today. It was just one of the many ways Paul contributed to the club he loved so dearly.

His presence, friendship, humour, and commitment will be deeply missed by everyone connected to Drighlington ARLFC, and Paul will be sorely missed by his rugby family both on and off the touchline.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Paul’s family, friends, and all who knew him during this difficult time.

On what was the hottest morning ever in Drighlington, our superstars played their hearts out!! Lots of water was needed and a cheeky ice lolly to finish the game (thanks Tom Moorby)

It was tough but they gave it their all, more tries and tags than we could keep a count of, leadership, communication and lots of fun!!

Well done to our superstars who’ve attended the Butlins Rhino’s challenge this weekend.

They’ve played with such determination making their coaches and parents so proud.

Another amazing morning down at Swillington ARLFC
where the black and yellow’s went head to head again!!

Some amazing rugby on display, so many magic moments, great defence and unbelievable attack!! Players passing between them, communicating and working so well together as friends and team mates. You were a delight to watch this morning, as always!
