Brilliant game by our Drighlington Girls ARLFC 2026 U15s this weekend!

It was a game played by what appeared to be two totally different Drig teams. The first half, the girls showed none of the abilities we know they have and have shown at training. One of the team described it perfectly from the sideline, " It's like we are playing in sludge".
Second half showed the team we know we are capable of and more. We can't fault the team's ability to turn their mindset around so well and there were outstanding performances from all the girls in the second half. As a coaching team we firmly believe the girls are capable of giving Oppositions a good go. They just need to believe.

On sunday we travelled across to Siddal to be part of there festival. Down on numbers we asked the Drighlington under14s if they could help and they were more than happy to bolster our squad.

The girls got chance to play against some fantastic teams, but as to be expected with 2 teams merging and getting to know each other, the 1st couple of games was abit slow compared to standard both sets of girls have set themselves.
After a small break and reset the cogs started to turn and performances grew the girls started to cause opposition a lot of problems and we finished with some fantastic results and even better compliments.
We got into the playoffs and the opposition unfortunately didn’t want to play the 3rd vs 4th game.

Over due post incoming!!

Last week saw three of our girls putting on the Rhinos shirt for the Leeds Rhinos foundation. And playing on one of the best pitches in super league!!

The girls had a fantastic time learning from some great coaches and extending their rugby knowledge and family.

Our numbers 6 and 19 probably didn’t get on the ball as much as they’d have liked but did amazing when the opportunities did arise.

Our number 12 definitely took to the occasion with some great runs and even getting over the line for a meat pie!!! (She’ll not be happy calling it that😂).

Saturday saw our number 9 put on a Bradford Bulls kit for the Futures game.
She had a fantastic game in both defence and attack even managing to get over the line for a couple of meat pies!!!

Joining us this season she has been a fantastic signing. She's been playing for a number of years and has a big appetite to keep improving.
A versatile player that can really let her rugby do the talking.
If she carries on how she is, she will have a great future in the game and we are happy to be part of her journey. 💛🖤💛🖤

We were all really good. But we chose this girl because she was strong in attack and defense, especially her attack. Her runs were amazing."
