Match Report - Evening XI

Division Cup vs DRUFC CC

The crabs battled hard and true against arguably the best opponents they’ll face all season but it was not to be.

Taking to the field first, on a soft, sort of well kept pitch down at Kings Mill Lane, the crabs hoped to improved on their L against Hornsea in the other cup last week.

The only wicket coming in the name of J. Pick, a cricket badger known by many for his ability to hit the ball r**t hard, and do a throw real quick, falling foul to the massive grabbers of Director Kirby.

DRUFC would put many runs on, even while the majority of fielding was strong for the crabs. DRUFC putting 166 on, in the 16 overs permitted.

A change of innings, the crabs tried to retaliate. Knowing the run rate required was over 10 an over, it was always going to be an uphill scuttle. A few cheap early wickets fell, leaving it to no other than Mr Driffield, the interviewee, the baby daddy and beaver tale boaster Barton to carry the crabs on his shoulders again.

He jibbed a 50 like, achieving 48*, but he got another red inker and a S/R over 100 so that’s all he cares about..

The crabs ending up on 74, not enough.

Devastated, wounded and heart broken, after his pre-match interview we caught back up with Mr Red Ink for a post match conflab…

“To be fair, I said a lot in my pre-match chat… all I’ve got to say now is that I love Driffield with all my heart, they’ll always be my booski, with the crabs warming to be a close second.. I tried my best, my best wasn’t good enough but we got close I guess. To close, 2026 I will captain HCCC to victory!!!!”

🚨 TEAM NEWS & EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW 🚨

Division Cup vs DRUFC CC

A clash of titans, HCCC travel just 3.6 miles from their home soil to allow Barton to return to familiar his familiar playing ground.

In an exclusive interview with Crabs TV Adam expressed his combined love for both HCCC & Driffield CC, saying “I’m just so glad I get to combine the two this week. Playing for the best club around and on the 4th best pitch I know of in the area, it’ll be nice to show the locals what I’m made of on a night and not just for the 3rd team on a weekend”.

Playing against a team romping the division above, the crabs will certainly have their work cut out tonight where they hope to bring the battle to a DRUFC side packed with talent, farmers, and rugby yobbos.

Tune in for the match report & sudocrem application this evening.

🚨 TEAM NEWS 🚨

Gameweek 6 - Evening XI

Fabrizio Romano, here we go! First of the cup format fixtures for HCCC tonight against a Hornsea side who seemingly was too scared to play the rampant scuttlers last week in the league fixture.

Hoping to show the Seasiders what real good crabs look like, and not the form you see the doctor about, Cal and his merry crustaceans are at home this evening for all your faces to see.

Sky Sperts has informed the HCCC newsroom that there is a chance of steady forecast - Crabby with a certainty of victory.

MATCH REPORT - 1st XI GAMEDAY 8

A warm day at Rotsea lane. What’s new? The place stunk of cricket, and cricket deffo happened!

Off the back of last weeks victory royale against Hymerians Captain Bingham knew he had to eat more than his normal 7 Weetabix to earn himself his second career crabs W.

Winning the toss, Beverley were forced into the field first as HCCC let the youthful Beverley side use feel some rawdog pain. That they did, not wanting to mess about, the crabs turned to business with the bat. Ingham trusting in himself to open, like a true all rounder. Earning his first red inker of the season along with 70 Great British runs, Tom in a post match interview said- “I just felt it today. I even brought a squid to gut myself, get its ink, and dye it read with the blood of the fallen Beverley souls. I might eat the squid later. Might put in on some Weetabix”.

Legend.

Lesson, Kneeshaw, Ulangathan, Tyson and our good mate and cult club hero Extras all in the runs to see the crabs earn 175 big ones.

Turning the tides, Beverley had chance to show the small village of Crutton Hanswick what’s what.

“Unsure” earned 44 whole runs all before Glass Back Leason combined with the skipper to remove his soul from the game.

Another “Unsure” further down the order was cleaned up after a ball from Ulangathan.

8 more “Unsure’s” came out with their bats. Hoping to show their parents what they’re made of.. not much it seemed.. 37 runs between the 8 of them, with extras following up as the 3rd highest scorer (16) put Beverley’s finest on 135 all out.

Beverley and the “Unsure” folk taking the L for the day.

Onto the next.
