Somewhere along the way, especially in hospitality, many of us were taught that the only emotions worth showing are the positive ones.
Be happy.
Stay positive.
Get on with it.
Don’t let it bother you.
So when we feel stressed, frustrated, anxious, resentful, or overwhelmed, we try to bury it and carry on.
But those emotions aren’t there to make your life difficult.
They’re there to tell you something.
They’re often a sign that something isn’t working, a boundary has been crossed, or you’re living in a way that doesn’t feel right for you.
The question isn’t, “How do I stop feeling this?”
It’s, “What is this feeling trying to tell me?”
When you start listening instead of ignoring, you can begin to move forward.
A good place to start is:
👉 Recognise what’s bringing the emotion.
👉 Talk it through with someone you trust.
👉 Make a plan that supports you in creating a happier, healthier version of your life.
You don’t have to stay stuck in emotions that keep coming back.
Sometimes they aren’t asking to be pushed away.
They’re asking to be understood.
If you’re ready to stop pushing through and start understanding what’s really going on, message me RESET. I’d love to help you work through it.
