As you may have gathered when not working on the car we work as doctors in the NHS! We reached out to the hospital charities of our respective employers and asked if they'd be interested in having our Suzuki Swift carry their logos as we try to build her into a Rally5 car and enter the British Rally Championship - we're very happy that they agreed to this!

As we compete and exhibit the car we'll be doing our best to fundraise for them and raise awareness of some of their campaigns - whatever your opinions on the NHS itself these charities are run by passionate, caring people who do their best to support patients, relatives, and staff in a variety of ways.

In addition to putting their decals on the car, we'll looking into making beanies, polo shirts, and other items like that which will also feature their logos.

Today what started as "hey, wouldn't it be cool to have a go in a rally car?" took a huge step closer to reality.

Thanks to some very swift - excuse the pun - work on the behalf of Virgin Money we finally have a bank account with which to run the company and we're finally able to place our order with Demon Tweeks to get Phase 1 of the conversion work done with Dorset Sports Cars ready to go!

Admittedly this has had to be ordered to one of our houses so it should be fun trying to fit all into the back of the Swift - two unwieldy Sparrow race seats included!

Following on from the experience at St Giles over the weekend we have put together a little information board to display at future events - hoping to add more to that soon!

It's starting to feel more real now - hoping to attract some advertisers before we embark on the big work next year!

Day 1 of the Lombard Rally St Giles Festival done and it was a thoroughly enjoyable day with some wonderful cars and great rally action around a location that was really well chosen - the manor house made a fantastic backdrop!

Tinged with regret somewhat as had the car been ready we 100% would have been out there on the tarmac ourselves in the Swift, but there's always the next Lombard Rally event!

It was really cool to see the historic rally cars in action and all the lovely and occasionally eclectic display cars brought in - special mention must go to Mr Geoff Twigg in his Mini Cooper S - been rallying with it for many years and was going absolutely flat out up the straight towards the house!

The Fiesta R5 is apparently for sale and I considered ringing the bank to ask if they'd extend us a few quid for it! Beast of a car!

Looking forward to tomorrow - hope it's equally enjoyable!

Exciting weekend ahead! Tomorrow our Suzuki Swift will be lining up alongside Subaru Imprezas, Audi Quattros, Opel Mantas and many more historic rally cars at the Lombard Rally Festival St Giles event! We'd been hoping that we could compete with them but due to circumstances beyond our control that won't be possible - there's always the next event in Bath!

Whilst we won't be competing, we will be displaying our car and happy to answer questions about our ambitions to turn this ex-circuit racer into a Rally5 car we can take to the British Rally Championship and beyond!

Saturday is sold out! Tickets are still available for Sunday so if you love motorsport and are in the Dorset/Devon/Hampshire area please do come along - the cars will make three runs including a night run through the grounds so if you've never seen a Group B car in full flight it's an amazing opportunity!

We're going to try and turn this road going Suzuki Swift Sport, modelled after a NZ Suzuki Swift Sport Cup winner, into a Rally5 spec car and enter it into stages rallying!
