⚽ MATCH REPORT | DIVISION 2
Today we travelled to Cobham Sports Ladies, who came into the game full of confidence following their victory last week.
Before kick-off, the message to the players was clear — play our way, believe in ourselves and let them worry about us. 🖤🤍
Both teams had some really bright moments during the first half. At times, we showed the confidence and quality that we know is within this young squad, moving the ball well and producing some good passages of play. However, some neat passing and clinical finishing from Cobham saw us go into half-time 3–0 down.
After some encouraging words at the break, the ladies came out stronger in the second half. The performance showed plenty of fight, determination and improvement, but Cobham continued to take their chances and extended their lead to 5–0.
We were awarded a penalty late on and had the opportunity to get a deserved goal, but unfortunately for us, the spot kick was well saved by the Cobham goalkeeper.
The scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story. There were more positive signs from this developing squad, and the confidence in our football continues to grow. We’ll take the lessons from today, keep working together and move forward.
👏 Well done to every one of the ladies for battling until the final whistle.
