A solid performance and a well-earned win today for the lads! 👏

Goals from:
⚫ Jake Ridley — a marauding run from centre back capped off with a “cross” 😅 that looped over the keeper!
⚫ James Murdoch — a thunderbolt from 25+ yards into the top corner 💥

We played some fantastic football in the first half and really should’ve been out of sight by the break, but went in 1–0 up. The second half wasn’t quite as fluid, but the boys dug in, showed great character, and held firm after Blyth pulled one back late on.

🏆 Joint Man of the Match:
⭐ Jake Ridley — commanding at the back (and a goal!)
⭐ Efrem Tesfstsion — the ball was glued to his feet all game… Blyth defenders were left dizzy 🔥

It’s felt like an eternity since our last match, but the wait is finally over!
After a few tough weeks of training, we’re ready to hit the road and take on Tickhill tomorrow.

We travelled over to a very windy Babworth today.
Even though with the benefit of the wind in our favour for the first half we were slow out of the blocks and took around 10 mins to gain our rhythm.
Luckily the 11th minute came and we were awarded a penalty which was safely tucked away by Tyler Elliot.
Many more opportunities arose in the first half but we were unable to convert any chances leading to a very frustrated Lewis Ashton and Efrem Tesfatsion.
2nd half commenced and Jake Ridley gave away a penalty by a handball. Luckily for Jake we have the one and only Kai Buckley between the sticks and Kai only did what Kai does best! Chose the right way and saved the penalty. Babworth created several more chances and who was there to save some absolutely outstanding shots.... Kai Buckley that's who!
Again a very strong performance in the 2nd half with many chances created without any finding the back of the net unfortunately.

First whistle went and both teams looked very evenly matched. After the first goal we finally took our form. We calmed down and played our football the way we know we can, runs were getting made, passes connecting left right and centre!
After 3-0 at half time Branton managed to claw one back with one amazing free kick scored by their No.10 👏 3-1. We kept fighting and answered back shortly after making it 4-1 and the rhythm soon came back to us, following up with another two goals to end the game at 6-1.

A massive thank you to all the parents and support that came out to cheer our boys on! Thank you to Branton for a very well played match and being kind visitors.
