“Today I felt the lads did really well, and I believe well worthy of the 4-1 scoreline and truth be told we could have added more to that as well.

We knew we’d have to be at the races from the first whistle, with Otter chasing down the chance of winning the bottom half of our division.

I asked the lads to match effort, to compete for every ball and to try and show a bit of quality when we get it back and I felt we showed plenty of that today, especially in the first half whereas the second half became a bit more of a grind.

But credit to the lads for doing exactly as I asked, they gave me everything they had. As a manager, that’s all you can ever ask for.

Credit to Otter FC as they was very game opponents and made it difficult for us in spells, but we move forward as a unit and try to make it 3 wins on the bounce next weekend in what will be our final league game of the season.”

“Tomorrow we’re up against Otter, and we know it’s going to be a test. We’re coming off the back of a really impressive team performance, so naturally the lads are full of confidence.

But we know Otter will be right up for it. They’ve had a really solid run in Division B2 and, importantly, they already got the better of us earlier in the season, so there’s definitely a bit of motivation there for the lads.

We want to finish the season strongly, keep the momentum going, and end on a high. If we play with the same energy, quality, and togetherness we showed last week, we’ll give ourselves every chance.

Second to last push from the boys… then they can all start pretending they’re athletes again during pre-season.”

“Well… it’s nice to have a semi on! 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

Jokes aside, this is a proper challenge for us. We’re up against Friendship FC Reserves, league leaders and probably everyone’s favourites this year, and for good reason. They’ve had a brilliant season and you don’t go there expecting an easy game.

But that’s exactly what makes it exciting. These are the games you want to be involved in. We know what we’re up against, but we’re not just turning up to make the numbers up, we’ll be looking to put a proper spanner in the works.

We had a cracking game with them on the opening day of the season. Hopefully we can put in another performance like that and make a real game of it.

“Yeah… tough one today. Conditions didn’t help, but same for both sides so no excuses. I thought we were alright first half, had a lot of the ball, just didn’t really hurt them.

Second half we knew what was coming with the slope and wind, and to be fair we stood up to it for a bit. But once they got the first, it made it difficult for us.

Not going to say too much, we’ve just got to be a bit braver, take chances when they come, and stop giving ourselves headaches.”
