We are Dewsbury Road Runners a friendly running club with 2 training nights a week at Dewsbury Moor Sports Club on Tuesday and Leggers Inn on Thursday.

We also organise 3 races per year including the fast and flat Dewsbury 10k

Another busy week for Team DRR. Chris travelled up north to take on the Blaydon race. We had runners travel over to visit our good friends for their vets league race with Heather taking 3rd place in the FV70 category. On Saturday Trish travelled south to take on the race to the cakes 12km around Rother Valley Country Park. On Sunday we had several runners and volunteers at the Leeds 10k. 🖤💛❤

A busy weekend of racing for with 4 runners taking on the latest calendar cup race the Marsden 10 with Mikey and Helen taking maximum points on offer, we had 7 runners taking on the Ilkley 10k, Ryan doing the 50k Lake District challenge Ultra and Claire doing her first trail marathon at the same event, Joe, Alice snd Hetty taking on the Manchester 10k and Elodie taking home the 3rd place FV40 prize at the Settle Saunter trail half marathon

A great showing of the 🔴⚫️🟡 at this morning for our monthly parkrun tourism.

21 of them made the journey east for their Saturday 5km fix around the grounds of the site.

Well done to everyone who made the trip and to the other 42 DRR who attended this morning up and down the country.

The last weekend of May gave 4 of our members a trip to the Lake District to take on the Ullswater Way Trail 20.

It looked a grand day out around the second largest lake in the National Park.

Standout performance from the 4 of them was Andy finishing 🥉 V50 and taking 65minutes off his time from last year.

Midweek racing came in hot this week.

🗓️ Tuesday saw race 2 of the YVAA GP series at Kirkstall
🗓️ Wednesday headed to Dovestones for the Dovestone Diamond 10k
🗓️ Thursday we had a small group over at Apperley Bridge for the 20th ABC hosted by Horsforth Harriers

Fantastic running in very warm conditions by everyone out there this week.

take on the Calderdale Way Relay 🙌🏼

This day is a highlight in our spring calendar 📆
24 of 🔴⚫️🟡 army represented us as 2 teams amongst 90 other teams from local running clubs to run the 50mile loop around Calderdale.

Huge thanks to .olverson.run for the admin to pull the teams together and well done to all our runners that ran for us today. This event really is a team effort and what a great club we are.

Thanks to the hosts for putting on such a great race year on year.

Last weekend was a big one, from 10k to Ultra Marathons our members were giving it their all.

Kicking things off in the Lake District was Emma who took on on Saturday morning adding her name to our list of Ultra Runners.

Dave was slightly closer to home in Ripon for the Ripon 10k whilst much closer to home were Dom, Toni, Mariam and Abu who were out in Leeds for the Rob Burrow’s Leeds Marathon and Half Marathon. Out in Leeds we also had Dawn and her Marathon Motivators keeping the runners pushing for that finish line.

Fantastic achievements all round 👏🏼

Today saw the highly anticipated return of the YVAA Grand Prix.

Our friends hosted the first race with their usual hilly route that is both brutal and beautiful in equal measure.

17 of our members made the trip to Holmfirth amongst them were Mikey & Treena making their Vets debut and what a debut it was for them both as they both walked away with prizes.

A strong start to the season from the club places us 3rd Mixed Team, fingers crossed we can keep hold of that throughout the year 🤞🏼

Mikey 🥉 M35

Roll on race 2 in just over 2 weeks time

14 of the 🔴⚫️🟡 army made the journey across the Pennines to Watergrove for parkrun this morning 🌅

8 of the 14 we’re making their first appearance at Watergrove but will they return for more in the future?! It’s a scenic course but one of the hilliest around.

First was Mikey collecting the no.3 token & our first female across the line was Amy taking 4th female and 30th overall.

Great running by everyone, on to the YVAA race tomorrow.

We’re deep in Spring Marathon season.

Leeds is just around the corner but it’s time to look back at a special moment that happened across the Atlantic. When Joanne crossed the finishline of she collected not one but two medals as this was no.6 making her a 6⭐️ finisher.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
