After last week’s win, the boys turned up this morning full of confidence… maybe a little too much confidence! 😂

For some reason, the first half looked like the whole team had booked themselves a little holiday and forgot to tell the coaches! 🏖️😂 We just didn’t get going, and before we knew it, we found ourselves 1-0 down.

But to their credit, the boys finally remembered that there was a football match happening! 😅 They started creating chances and putting Elland under pressure. Unfortunately, the Elland keeper had clearly decided he was Spider-Man for the morning! 🕷️🔥 He was making save after save and keeping his team in the game.

🔥 SECOND HALF 🔥

Whatever was said at half-time seemed to work, because we came out a completely different team.

The boys started playing some really good football, moving the ball around and creating chances. But they had to work extremely hard to get that first goal and what a goal it was and suddenly the boys were hungry for more. They kept pushing, kept creating chances and eventually…

Not long we got our second⚽️⚽️

But fair play to Elland Juniors, they never gave up. They kept fighting and managed to get themselves back level with a really nice free kick. 🎯

A big credit to Elland for making us work right until the end. 👏

Batley Ladies F.C. vs Featherstone Flyers F.C. — Match Report

After falling off a cliff last week, it was time for the players to step up and show everyone that we’re not going to roll over this season.

From the off, we looked the better side, winning the ball back really quickly and playing plenty of quick, short passes to keep hold of the ball and make the opposition work hard to get it back.

After 15 minutes, we had played some lovely football to get into the final third, and Evie played an amazing ball through the line that even got the opposition applauding the pass. The little Road Runner, Beth, then placed a very tidy finish into the bottom-left corner. 1-0 Batley F.C.

We’d finally got some reward for our play without really being challenged.

On the restart, they were all back at it, chasing every ball down, and then came the water break.

On the restart, the opposition manager had changed a few things around, and it seemed to have worked for a short while as they started to get a grip on the game.

But up steps Becca, on her first game back. She collected the ball 15 yards inside her own box and was asked to drive the ball forward. She dribbled all the way to outside the opposition’s box, got told to have a go, and did she?!

BANG! Bottom-left corner. 2-0!

What has to go down as an absolutely wonderful strike.

The restart came, and it was a lot of back and forth from both teams. Just before half-time, Fev played a good bit of football and got a shot off that the keeper saved, but unfortunately for us, Brooke couldn’t keep the ball out.

So basically, she just removed Becca’s goal! 😅

2-1 at half-time, and everything to play for.

The second half started, and we came out very well. The manager changed formation to counter the opposition, and we were back on top again, playing some good stuff, although never quite reaching the highs of the first half.

Again, the opposition manager changed things up, and they got on top. After piling on the pressure, they scored a lovely header from a corner.

2-2, and it was anyone’s game.

After another water break, we changed things up again 😅 and we were back on top, playing some good football and creating chances. But the opposition goalkeeper was on form and kept everything out.

We got down to the last six minutes, and we were finishing the game as the better team. But this is football, and mistakes happen.

Our centre-back didn’t clear the ball well, and they collected it just outside our box before rifling it past the keeper. Our keeper had an amazing game herself, but just couldn’t keep this one out.

Final score: Batley Ladies F.C. 2-3 Featherstone Flyers F.C.

But what a game we all put on!

Managers battling tactically off the field, every player giving everything for their team — it’s what football is all about.

A massive well done to Featherstone Flyers today. It was a joy to play against you, and we wish you all the best for the rest of the season.

As for our girls — heads up! We showed today exactly what we’re capable of. The result might not have gone our way, but the performance, effort and fight were there for everyone to see.

Batley u11s vs mount pleasant u11s

Our first game of the season at home seen us hosts to a derby match witch both teams gave everything.

Our lads started really quick getting an early goal through a well worked attacking play were we linked a few passes together and fin found the killer pass, putting bentley 1v1 with the keeper. The boys were in high spirts still feeding off the buzz from the first goal, jovi found the ball at his feet an played a long pass for alfie to run onto and slot home.
Into the second half the lads still playing great football linking up well and spreading the play. But good defensive display from mount stopped us converting most of our chances untill fin picked the ball up and made a great solo run and finish.
It was an unreal performance from every single player out there from back to front the defence was solid witch let the attecker have more freedom to play.

Match report

We had kindly today at home, we had some new players and some new positions for some lads today, first 25minutes we play well in the middle of pitch put our body’s on the line and made it very difficult for lindley. Our defenders stopped talking to eachother and we didn’t organise ourselves properly then lindley went 0-1 up that’s when flood gates opened. Jacob our keeper got injured putting his body on the line to save a scoring opportunity and had to be replaced with yasser who played really well but they just cut through us scoring another 2 goals before to make it 0-3 at half time. 2nd half we look tired and leggy but we didn’t give up, a few bad decisions and a lot of time wasting by our opponents today but the lads kept there heads up and last 25mins we started playing how they know they can play. Salmane with a well take goal and ammaan converted a penalty.
Man of the match ammaan today well done lads keep fighting be aggressive and work hard for eachother.

🔴⚫️ Batley FC U8s Match Report ⚫️🔴

Today we faced Cumberworth Juniors in our second game of the season, marking our first ever game at our new home ground.

The team turned up ready and in high spirits to put in a big performance.

The game began and it was an intense battle, with both sides creating numerous chances. Big shout out to Dontae, who stepped up in goal and made numerous saves to keep us in the game. Cumberworth managed to break the deadlock through an own goal after some chaos in the keeper’s box.

Batley were quick to react, with Abdouraman intercepting the ball in our own box, driving down the right and finishing the chance. We went into the first quarter break level.

The second quarter began and the coach asked the team to play more offensively. Although this helped us get into some dangerous attacking areas, we just couldn’t manage to find the net and were punished on the counter attacks.

Big shout out to Theo, who was in net and saved a Cumberworth penalty — an amazing save and a big effort from him. Well done 👏

After conceding a couple of goals, the coach asked the team to try something else. Abdouraman had a shot straight from kick-off and bang! Straight into the back of the net. ⚽️🔥

The third quarter was another big battle, with Batley trying to get back into the game and Cumberworth trying to extend their winning margin.

As the quarter was coming towards the final minute, Eliza played a beautiful through ball to Nellie, leaving her one-on-one with the keeper and putting it away into the far-left corner. ⚽️🎯

The final quarter saw us leaving everything on the field, with both teams battling right until the very end. We ended up conceding but, once again, we didn’t give up. Not long after, Nellie played Abdouraman through for his hat-trick, where he put it away in style.

The team left everything on the field and we are all so proud of how well they are doing, managing to score goals and play some amazing football in their first season together.

Batley FC U10s – First Home Game of the Season ⚽️
Our first home game of the season gave us the opportunity to try a few new things, with players taking on different positions and a few changes to how we approached the game.
The emphasis today was never going to be about the scoreline. It was about learning, trying new things and giving the boys the chance to develop — and there were plenty of positives to take.
The boys worked hard and created some really good chances. Nathan bagged a brace, including a long-distance effort that left the goalkeeper completely helpless! 🚀
Coeben also opened his account for the season and was unfortunate once again from the penalty spot — he’ll get there! 👊
There are still things we need to work on, particularly making sure we keep going right until the very end and give 100% effort from the first minute to the last. That’s something we’ll keep building on.
🏆 Man of the Match – Archie
Archie gets the award today for his efforts outfield, bringing plenty of energy into midfield, before finishing the game with a decent goalkeeping performance in the final quarter. A great effort in two very different roles! 👏
We’re trying new things, we’re learning and we’re building.
If we keep working hard, the good times will come for this team. ❤️🖤⚽️

Mens match report

BATLEY FC 1-4 OULTON AFC

The Batley lads turned up today looking to carry there good performance last time out into todays game.
For the first 15 minutes both teams battled for control of the game with batkey looking the team more likely to score, breaking the defensive lines at will at times but unable to capitalise. One chance did fall our way in the end after Danny Parris somehow worked the ball into the back of the net under heavy pressure. After the goal Oulton tried to put pressure on Batley and in the end they got rewarded a penalty after a mix up at the back and a questionable decision by the ref.

Half time 1-1

Batley started the second half looking to control more of the game and link up better in the final third.
We had our chances but they never worried the Oulton defence in the end. In the final half hour of the game the Batley lads had lost there heads and composure allowing the Ref and Oultons players in there heads, this showed when Oulton put 3 past us in the last 20 minutes.

Final score 1-4

A missed opportunity for the lads, as the game was there to be won. We pick our heads up and learn from this fellas.
A big shoutout to the one and only Reggie for stepping up in goal today and putting in a performance for the team ❣️❣️❣️

⚽️ UNDER 12s — MATCH REPORT ⚽️

Brighouse Town (Away) | First Match of the Season 🌧️

What a way to start the season! The first game of the new campaign took us away to Brighouse Town, and of course, because apparently football isn’t difficult enough already… we had to play it in the rain! 😂🌧️

This was a really entertaining match between two very good sides. The boys arrived absolutely buzzing and extremely excited to finally get their season underway after all the hard work they’ve put in during pre-season.

We didn’t have the best start and found ourselves 1-0 down, but there was absolutely no panic. The boys settled down, relaxed, and started playing the football we know they can play. The energy levels went up, the passing improved, and we started to create chances.

And then… GOAL! ⚽️

Our first goal of the season arrived, and you could see the confidence growing straight away. The boys continued to build from the back, moving the ball quickly, passing and moving, and creating more opportunities.

Not long after, we got our second goal of the season! ⚽️ The boys kept pushing and deservedly went into half-time 2-1 up.

At half-time, we knew the second half was going to be tough. We were shooting uphill, the rain was still coming down, and Brighouse were always going to put us under pressure.

But the boys just kept going. 💪

They continued to play football, pass and move, work incredibly hard, and most importantly, win the ball back whenever we lost it.

As a coach, I genuinely couldn’t be more proud of these lads. The way they work for each other off the ball is incredible. Every player put in a shift, chased, pressed, competed and never gave up.

And let’s be honest… running uphill in the rain for 30 mins isn’t exactly what they ordered from the football menu! 😂🌧️

A fantastic team performance and a brilliant way to start the season. There is still plenty to work on, but the attitude, effort and desire shown today was fantastic.
