We were excited to compete in our second game ever as a club against a great and established team like Darley Abbey, one of the teams we aspire to be like in the coming years it will take a very long time .🙌
It was a depleted squad on match day as a 14 Man match day squad quickly turned into just 8 players on Sunday.Thank you to Darley Abbey FC for giving us 3 players so that the match could happen, a class act from the manager we really do appreciate it he was always there and willing to help.🙏
A better start in the first half from the Alvaston Forza comparing it to our first game ,the courage was there in a back and forth battle keeping the score at 0-0 for the first 25 minutes.💪
However once the lads conceded the first goal from an indirect free kick Darley Abbey began to take over and more quality goals started coming. There was a difference in match fitness between the 2 teams and with just 11 players the team had to roll up their sleeves and keep fighting through the game.
Darley Abbey were able to freshen things up their players looked sharp having just competed in a full season in the Derby Taverners League we wish them all the best as they compete in the upcoming Summer League.⚽️
We truly did have some good stints during the game but by then the game was over, a positive we take from this is that history was made on Sunday 10 May, As the first ever goal for the club was scored by Lavell⚽️,the first ever assist provided by Jordan⭐️well done lads you will be in the clubs history books forever,a massive moment for the club whether you realise it or not🙌👏
We are still at the start of this journey, there will be ups and there will be downs but we must keep fighting for the badge for each other.
We will never hide any results here at Alvaston FC,the results are the results whether negative or positive we aim to improve.
