Match report:
No game for a few weeks, just 12 players for the game and playing field lane. You'd think this would be a for-gone conclusion today. But it wasn't.
First half was very tight. Both teams with good chances but neither could take them. Some good defending from the lads frustrated field lane and we played alot of the first half on the counter attack.
2nd half was much better from us and seemed to hold all the action. We scored a few minutes into the half, Ewan Mac laying it nicely for Matt O to finesse a lovely side footed effort out of the keepers reach from the 18 yard box. We conceded not long after from a corner. A looping header over Tom at the back post. This didn't discourage us though, we kept probing and were on the front foot alot. We went ahead after 65 minutes. Jack F with the goal from a Ben C assist. Jack's description of the goal: I’ve scored a pot shot bobbler from about 30 yards cause their keeper was trying to tuck his top in after the lino told him his belly was hanging out 😂😂.
We went 3-1 up a few minutes later. This time, Ewan C getting on the end of a long free kick from Tom which the defender nodded right into his path for him to cooly finish. Seemed like the game was done at this point and we looked comfortable. But this is sunday football.....
Sam T didn't do anything with a ball over his head and their sun ran onto to finish between northys legs. We demanded calm at this point with 10 minutes to play. And again didn't look in too much trouble. Phil could have added a 4th from a fired in corner, but his bullet header was blocked off the line. We did kill the game with 3 minutes to go. Ewan Mac with another assist this time for Tommy, whose lovely first time strike from the edge of the box found the bottom corner via a small deflection. FT 4-2
