Cassiun Langfield scored his second in the 60th minute before Jude Wright scored his second minutes from the end of the game.
Rowsley 86 Reserves 2-2 Ashland Rovers Reserves
After last week’s fine win, Rowsley began this match full of confidence and conviction. They made a bright start and took an early lead after just six minutes. A well-weighted pass from Bedford found Walker, whose excellent control allowed him to set up Slater to finish calmly. Rowsley doubled their advantage on 21 minutes. Lanigan’s through ball once again picked out Slater, although his initial effort was saved, the rebound fell kindly to Walker, who lobbed the ball into an empty net. The home side had further chances to extend their lead, but it was Ashland who struck next. On 42 minutes, Hughs gambled on a long ball, getting between the keeper and defender to divert it into the net, making it 2–1 at half-time.
Two forced changes at the break appeared to disrupt Rowsley’s rhythm, and Ashland began to dominate possession. Their pressure paid off on the hour mark when a long-range effort from Davies deceived Watson in the home goal, bringing the score level at 2–2. Rowsley responded and thought they had regained the lead, but Slater’s close-range finish was ruled out for offside. Ashland then took control of the game. Brennan tapped in on 73 minutes to put the visitors ahead, and poor defending allowed Farrelly to run through the centre and calmly slot past Watson for 4–2 after 80 minutes. Deep into added time, Hughs grabbed his second goal to seal an impressive away victory for Ashland.
