Some of the students attended work experience at penwood stables, a great opportunity and eye opener! They got to spend time with the lovely Buzz who is nearly 18hh! Looking at the track system and how different yards work. Well done girls!

⚠️ Important Health Reminder for Our HLWES Community ⚠️

We wanted to make you aware that there has been a confirmed case of horse strangles at a yard in Derbyshire. While this is not a risk to humans, strangles is an airborne infection that affects horses’ respiratory systems and can be carried on clothing or equipment.

As a precaution, we kindly ask all riders and visitors to:

Bring a separate set of riding clothes for sessions at HLWES, especially if you ride at other yards or have horses on loan elsewhere.
Wash your hands thoroughly at the end of each session.
Inform us immediately if you hear of any other cases of strangles.
