Active family Mondays at the tennis club 🙌🏻🎾

Have said it before and I’ll say it again, take your kids with you to exercise. Let them watch, let them join in, make it fun. Just move your body and let them follow your example.

This is the same body. A body deserving of love.

Not a before and after, not a transformation. Just a body. One in the morning on holiday posed and flexed with good lighting and the other bloated a few days later after a curry. The body on the right returned to the body on the left after a night’s sleep. A few days “off plan” on holiday didn’t make me look bigger, a lot of gas did. I didn’t do any “damage”.

Your body changes, develops, grows, shrinks but most of all supports you all the way through your life. It looks different at different times but it is always, always there for you.

Be kind to it.

PS - heart covering godawful pants 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Self talk: “Last week I was so good! I worked out five times, stuck to my cals, this week it’s all fallen apart and I’ve been so lazy!”

Real talk: “last week i showed up for myself with workouts for energy and nutrient dense meals. This week I got a cold and my period so I showed up for myself with the extra and food my body needed. I stuck to my non negotiables of daily movement and vegetables and my health will not be impacted long term by one week of more rest.”

BIG difference, HUGE.

2020-2022. 2 years to find some peace with this body after 6 years ripping it apart. It takes time, but you can get there.
One day you will see a photo of yourself at your smallest and realise you weren’t inherently happier.

Thinness does not = happiness. For me it equalled control when I felt life was out of control. It equalled coldness and misery.

You are beautiful when you are healthy and happy, whatever size that sits at for YOUR body.

Keep going 🫶🏻.

IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT FAT LOSS.

This amazing client is going through one of life’s most stressful phases. She’s calmer and more resilient AND stronger (she’s increased her bench press max by 10 kg this week 💪🏻) when she walks out my gym door every week and frankly so am I just for having shared the space and experience with her.

There are so many more powerful things exercise can do for your body and mind than just shrinking it.

A hill I will die on.

Training isn’t always about abs.

It’s about confidence wearing the outfit when your body image is in the toilet.

It’s about friendship, family.

It’s about food freedom with that family.

It’s about knowing you’re a badass and you deserve to ask for the world, not the bare minimum ( and I’m looking at you)

These women, my OG clients have taught me those lessons. I love them fiercely and am so proud of them.
