Denaby Development 13 - 1 Youdan
Denaby Main Development returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with a 13-1 victory over Youdan, in a game where the visitors deserve credit for making the fixture happen despite arriving with only ten men. Everyone at Denaby would like to thank Youdan for getting a side together and fulfilling the game under difficult circumstances.
Denaby started quickly and took the lead inside the opening stages when Liam opened the scoring to make it 1-0. The pressure continued to build and Liam Squires soon turned provider, squaring across goal for Adam to calmly finish and double the advantage.
Adam was causing problems throughout and grabbed his second from a corner to make it 3-0, before Oliver Davies added getting a flick on from a superb free-kick from Cam to extend the lead to four. Cam was heavily involved all afternoon and soon slid Cayden Prowse through for another well-worked goal as Denaby continued to dominate possession and territory.
The attacking football kept flowing, with Adam setting Jamie away down the flank before his cross eventually led to another finish from Liam capitalised to add Denaby’s sixth. Cam then produced another moment of quality with a direct free-kick to make it 7-0 before linking up brilliantly with Liam again, who showed great composure to lob the goalkeeper for the eighth.
After the break, Denaby showed no signs of slowing down. Adam rounded the goalkeeper after another incisive move involving Cam to make it 9-0. Youdan continued to battle despite the scoreline and earned themselves a goal after hitting the best goal of the game a strike from 30yards giving Mains keeper no chance for 9-1.
Denaby responded immediately, with Adam scoring directly from a corner before adding another clever lob over the keeper moments later. He completed yet another finish after going one-on-one to make it 12-1, before rounding off the afternoon with a composed finish for his seventh goal of the game and Denaby’s thirteenth.
It was an entertaining attacking display from Denaby Main Development, who moved the ball well throughout and showed plenty of quality in the final third, but equal credit goes to Youdan for sticking at it and ensuring the fixture was played despite starting with ten men.
