2024 what a season of ups, downs and a roll in between!

Started out strong at Anglesey, with 4 podium finishes.

The car was plagued with problems at Cadwell, which is most gutting as I had double pole starts, and led the first race start to the final lap when the drive shaft broke

Brands, well we all know how that one ended! Upside down after multiple rolls in the Paddock hill gravel.

Oulton park, a mixture of under powered car and under confident me, didn’t give a meeting of good results.

Donington the car had more problems, engine mounts breaking, rad overheating and lack of power steering

Brands, my confidence was back, and had some good results

Snetterton was the perfect finale, 2 more podiums and maximum point scores.

Lots of lessons learnt this year, lots more still to learn.

Huge thanks to everyone who came on this journey with me, friends and family who came trackside to watch, sponsors, Absolute Protection Group

Racing Hondas rounds 14 and 15 race report. Snetterton 200 Circuit

The last round of the 2024 season, a season where at some points I questioned myself and the car, but this is my favourite track and I was determined to have a good end to the worst season of racing I’ve had.

Sunday morning, A half wet half dry practice session greeted this allowed me to get used to the car and make any adjustments before the wet qualifying session an hour or so later.

Quali went okay on my Yokohama tyres and finding the grip more and more every lap and on the final lap I found 4 tenths of a second which would put me on a p4 start for race one later on.

Race 1
The initial start in race one was amazing one of my best of the year gaining a lot of places, then a red flag came out before the end of the first lap, so all my work was undone, as we were re-gridded back in our original start positions.
On the restart I again gained places and after a few laps I was sitting 4th in class, until a mistake from 3rd place promoted me to the podium position, from there I just brought the car home and got my first podium since Anglesey’s round 1 back in April. Collecting maximum points for this race.

Race 2
I started p4 again I got a mega start, getting into p2 straight away I had extremely good pace even comparable with some of the higher class cars, it was raining so much we could barely see where we were going around the track, resulting in another red flag for a big incident that happened right in front me of me, which I somehow managed to avoid.
Another good restart I finished p6 overall and p2 in class, again receiving maximum championship points for this race.

Overall a much needed good weekend and I’m so proud of my performance at my favourite track with some friends and family present as well. Thanks for standing out in the wind and rain all day watching me!

I finish the year p4 In the championship only, 4 points off of p3 . Coming my into this final round I was 26 points behind and in P5.
Shows with a bit more luck throughout the season I would have had that P3 place super secure, but Considering all the bad luck I’ve had this year and having a crisis of confidence hindering me since incident in the middle of the year I don’t think that I could’ve done much better. Plans are being made for next year and the Racing Hondas Championship has been such a fun championship so it’s definitely an option.

And as always a massive thank you to the team at time attack and the championship for putting on a great event, all at Jeakins and to all my sponsors and supporters who allow me to compete!

Huge congrats to Alfie to lead the class B championship from
Start to finish, a true champ!

Keep your eyes peeled for 2025 plans

‘Outsider’ Hounsell Targets First Wins In Snetterton Finale 🏁

Loui Hounsell says he has “nothing to lose” as he hunts a prized top three finish in Class B in the Racing Hondas Championship’s season finale at Snetterton.

The 20 year old will go into the event on 20 October lying fifth in the Class B standings – 26 points off current third-placed Nick Charlier with a maximum 37 on offer (Charlier will be ineligible to score in the event).

A top three will earn him a paid-for registration into 2025’s championship and there’s even a chance he could catch Dave Buky (currently 32 points up the road in P2).

💬 “Being the outsider I’ve got nothing to lose whereas the others have. My only tactic is to just go for it,” says Jeakins Race Preparation driver Hounsell.

The Racing Hondas Championship- Brands Hatch rounds 13-14 race report

Returning to Brands Hatch I was hoping for a much better weekend than I had in June, especially with guests, friends, family and sponsors attending. With it being my local event I wanted a decent weekend to put behind what happened earlier in the year.

Qualifying was in the dry. I managed to put an okay lap in early, and struggled to beat it after that.
Starting race 1 from p15, p7 in class is much better than being on my roof. So will take that.

As soon as we returned to the awning after qualifying the rain arrived, heavy torrential downpours.

Race 1 was mega wet conditions with visibility and just staying on track being a struggle, however on my AO52 tyres it wasn’t too bad. I managed to work my way up to p4 in class and was even battling with the A class cars.
I stayed on track and held 4th position until I chose to let Alfie, my Jeakins race prep teammate through just before the chequered flag, to aid his championship points. I finished p5 in class.
Very happy with that.

The rain was on and off between races.

Race 2 was still a little slippery starting in p6, I got a good start getting up to 4th, from there I held my position, a safety car came out, due to an incident on track, shortly after the restart there was a red flag and the race ended.
So crossing the line in P4.

Very content with these results considering the year of bad luck we’ve been having. To have a weekend with no issues and good hard racing especially with my sponsors and friends in attendance was very much needed and enjoyed!

And as always a massive thank you to the team at time attack and the championship for putting on a great event and to all my sponsors, family and supporters who allow me to compete! And a huge thank you to all the orange army of Marshalls, without them we couldn’t go racing!

Last and final round is on October 20th at Snetterton, will be looking for a repeat of these results to finish the season.

Good day in the car at Brands Hatch
for rounds 13 & 14 of the Racing Hondas Championship

Qualified in 7th for race 1, on a very greasy track after the changing weather conditions.

Race 1 : P7- P5
Race 2: P6- P4

Really solid day of racing, got some much needed championship points, and good points accumulated for the team.

Thank you to everyone who came and said hi, wished me good luck, and to everyone who stayed during the torrential showers!

One more round to go in October at Snetterton.
