We currently don’t have any entries for our family pony class! So we thought we would tell you a bit about what our judges are looking for!

🐴 What Is a Family Pony Class? 🐴

A Family Pony Class is all about finding a pony that is safe, sensible, and enjoyable for different members of a family to ride. It's not necessarily about having the best conformation or the flashiest movement.

✅ Judges are usually looking for: • Good manners and temperament - calm, obedient, and easy to control.
• Suitability for all riders - a pony that can safely carry children and adults.
• Rideability - willing paces, smooth transitions, and responsiveness.
• Good behaviour in the ring - standing quietly, coping with other horses, and behaving sensibly.
• Excellent turnout - a clean, well-presented pony, rider, and tack.

✅ Depending on the show, you may be asked to: • Perform a simple individual show (walk, trot, and canter).
• Complete practical tasks that demonstrate the pony's suitability as a family pony.
• Jump a small fence.
• Participate on or off the lead rein.

🏆 While judging can vary between shows, the ideal Family Pony is generally the one that appears to be the safest, kindest, and most versatile all-round family mount, rather than the most highly schooled pony.

With the weather looking good for this week! The ground should be perfect for the show on Saturday!

Rosettes arrive today! And the sashes are being made for our class winners as we speak!

At the moment entries are looking a little low and it’s not viable for us to run…
