No one likes knots (adhesions) in their body so I highly recommend you add rotations into your day today movement; to prevent knots or break them if necessary to allow for more slide and glide of your fascia and soft tissues. Well worth the effort!

How to get ready for anything, including the resistance...

Use a massage tool or roller to prepare your body for action.

And to reduce delayed onset muscle soreness afterwards.

Using massage tools you can improve both Proprioception AND Interoception.

These senses remind me of ‘the force’ from Star Wars. Obviously in a more day to day kind of way 😅

Proprioception is the sense of your body’s location, movements and actions. For example being able to touch your nose with your finger whilst your eyes are closed.

Interoception is a lesser-known sense that helps you understand and feel what’s going on inside your body. This helps regulate our vital functions like body temperature, hunger, thirst, digestion, and heart rate.

Your body is amazing. You have a body-wide tensional network of fascia. This Fascial network has connections to muscles and bones.

I prefer this 👆🏻rather than the more traditional view of a muscular skeletal system with facial connections.

Hyper-mobility requires careful training so here’s a long resistance band mini series I put together for a lovely Pilates client of mine.
It’s no surprise to me that women get frozen shoulders when they do ALL THE THINGS. So do please take some time for yourself and increase the slide and glide of your shoulder blades, improve your body awareness and strength of this most vulnerable joint.
I pulled my arm slightly out of the socket last year (bendy lady right here) and it was so painful!
These things happen when you are 5ft 3 on a good day but think you are 6ft 3… So let’s keep up the good work together!

Is there a prop you love or love to hate?
For me the soft round Handweights are a blessing. Especially for those nervous of dropping a dumbbell on their foot - I used to be SO cack handed myself but much better nowadays.
