We finished up our season with a cracking game at Aveley a couple of Sunday's ago. Two really good teams who played some great football.
Off the back of our treble winning season in 2023-24 - this ones definitely been more of an up and down ride.
We started strong and carried on where we left off the previous season, going on an uneaten run through September and October, sitting at the top of the table.
Then we had a horrible November and December where we couldn't buy a win. Coaching is a constant learning journey and it was definitely a challenge to figure out what was going wrong over those couple of months. I think the boys had gone so long without losing, they forgot how to lose if that makes any sense.
The break over Christmas definitely done us good, but the challenges continued when we lost a couple of big players to injury at the start of the year.
The rest of the season from January onwards ended up being a total rollercoaster with mixed results and performances throughout. Some days we looked like we'd never played together, but on other days we were unreal. A number of opposition coaches told us we were the best footballing side they'd played all season, which is credit to the lads and the work we put in (we just couldn't get the consistency back).
What I can say is that over the last month or so - we've felt like a family again, everyone fighting for each other and playing good football. I'll say this forever - on our day, when we play like that, we can give anyone a game.
That's more than a team in the photo below, it's a family (with a few missing).
Thanks to all the players for your hard work, to the parents for their constant support, and to our sponsors Bellmont Security Systems Ltd and DLH Lifting Services.
None of this would be possible without you all ❤️🖤
