Apparently I’m going to be a paddleboarding dog… 😳🐾🏄‍♀️

Dad took me to beautiful Llangorse Lake near Brecon for a little reconnaissance mission.

We stayed here in the van and I spent the day exploring the lake, campsite and everything else I could stick my nose into. And apparently next time we come back, I’m not just watching from the jetty… I’m going paddleboarding! 😳

The really cool bit? That little island in the lake is Llangorse Crannog — the only known crannog in Wales, with a royal history going back more than 1,100 years. 👑🏝️

Beautiful mountains. Beautiful water. Van camping. Walks. Boats.

I suppose I could get used to this adventure-dog business. 😐

🐾 Nalu the Nomad — Quick Update

Just a quick one from me tonight… apparently Dad has been too busy to keep up with my social media career. 🙄🐾

Before he disappeared off on his paddleboarding adventures to Slovenia and Venice, he took me back to one of my favourite places — Pontsticill Reservoir. ❤️🏔️

Then Dad went on holiday and I got packed off to stay with some new friends.

And THIS is Thor. 🐶❤️

We spent the week together and became proper best buddies. Playing, sleeping, following each other around… I had an absolutely lush time. Turns out being abandoned while Dad goes paddleboarding isn’t quite so terrible when you’ve got a mate like Thor. 😂

New places are good.
New adventures are better.
But new best friends might be the best bit of all. ❤️🐾

🐾 THE UNIMPRESSED NOMAD GOES TO LLANGYNIDR LOCKS 🐾

Dad keeps telling me I need to look more excited in my adventure photos.

I AM excited. This is just my face. 😑😂

Today Dad took me to Llangynidr Locks on the beautiful Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. The sun was shining, the canal was gorgeous and I spent ages watching these enormous narrowboats travelling through the locks.

Some of them were about 40–50 feet long! 😳

They’d sail into this little section of canal, the gates would close, the water would rise or fall and suddenly the whole boat was at a completely different level.

I watched VERY carefully.

Obviously while maintaining my usual expression of complete disappointment with life. 😂

We stayed the night beside the canal in our van 🚐🐾 and Dad even disappeared across to the pub opposite for tea.

And apparently we’ve now decided that one day we’re going to hire our own narrowboat and spend a few days travelling along the canal.

I’m not sure Dad has considered who will actually be Captain.

Obviously me. 🐶⚓️

Another beautiful little Welsh adventure. ❤️🏴

Now I need your help…

What could Dad possibly take me to see that would finally make me look impressed?! 😂

Pembrokeshire Adventure — Day 4 🐾

At the end of our lovely walk around Bosherston Lily Ponds, we came out onto another absolutely beautiful beach: Broad Haven South.

There was soft sand, the sea, a giant rock called Church Rock out in the water… and lots of space for me to do all my favourite things: run around, dig holes, bury my face in the sand and chase anything that dared to move.

I even had a little play in the water and found some pebbles to carry around in my mouth. I thought they were excellent treasures, although Dad didn’t seem quite as impressed.

It was the perfect end to our Pembrokeshire adventure. On the way home we even had another night at Wisemans Bridge, right by the pub and the sea — but for some reason Mum and Dad forgot to take photos there!

Pembrokeshire, you have been incredible. I will definitely be back. 🖤

Pembrokeshire Adventure — Day 3 🐾

We woke up by the coast just outside St Davids, and our first little adventure was a walk down to St Justinian’s Lifeboat Station. What a view to wake up to!

Then Mum and Dad took me somewhere really special — Bosherston Lily Ponds. We walked around the beautiful ponds, over little wooden bridges and through the trees, with amazing views everywhere we looked.

It was peaceful, beautiful and full of new smells to investigate. I even found the perfect little tree stump for a photo… I think I make quite a good woodland creature. 😄

Bosherston Lily Ponds is definitely somewhere everyone should visit if they’re exploring Pembrokeshire.

Pembrokeshire Adventure — Day 2 🐾

Today we left Newgale and headed towards St Davids, but first we stopped at the beautiful little harbour village of Solva.

There was a lovely sandy beach, a big sheltered inlet full of boats, little galleries and shops to explore — and even a great café for Mum and Dad. I concentrated on looking cute and having a proper sniff around, obviously.

We also found some very old stone lime kilns by the harbour. They’re thought to be at least 200 years old and were once used to make quicklime — pretty cool, even if I still think they look like giant dog houses! National Trust’s Solva history⁠

Mum and Dad even made a rare appearance in one of the photos… but I think we can all agree who the star of the show is. 😌

Next stop: St Davids — Britain’s smallest city. Visit Wales⁠

Pembrokeshire Adventure — Day 1 🐾

Dad and Mum took me away for a four-day adventure around beautiful Pembrokeshire, and our first stop was the absolutely stunning Newgale Beach.

It was huge — miles and miles of sand, big skies, sea air and plenty of room for one very excited little dog. As soon as my paws hit the sand, the zoomies arrived and I was off running around like a lunatic!

We walked for miles in the sunshine and wind, then I found the perfect spot to dig the biggest sand hole I could manage. I do love getting my face absolutely covered in sand.

Such a brilliant first day. Pembrokeshire really is a beautiful place — and we’re only just getting started.

Back to one of my favourite places today for a little trim, a blow-dry and my nails done. Apparently I look very smart now… although Dad says I still look deeply unimpressed about the whole situation 😂

I came out all fluffy, dapper and ready to show off my new haircut — then it was back to my usual camping field for a little play in the grass.

What do you think of my fresh new look? I personally think I’ve absolutely nailed it. 🐾

Guess who got a front-row seat at one of the biggest paddleboarding weekends of the year? 🐾

The GB SUP National Racing Series came to my home lake, Llandegfedd Reservoir in South Wales, and some of the best paddleboard racers in the UK were here competing over two brilliant days.

I watched all the racing, met lots of lovely people who gave me plenty of cuddles and fuss… and I even got to try out a proper racing board! I think I may have found my new favourite kind of paddleboard 😍

It was so special seeing my home lake full of boards, racers and excitement. One day, do you think I should have a go at racing too?

🏄‍♀️🐾 NALU’S NEXT ADVENTURE… MY FIRST PADDLEBOARD! 🐾🏄‍♀️

Well… after yesterday’s bath, thankfully it was back to adventuring! 😂

And today was a VERY big day for me…

I GOT ON MY FIRST PADDLEBOARD! 🥳🐶🏄‍♀️

We were back at my local lake where Dad teaches paddleboarding, and he finally introduced me to the board that hopefully I’m going to have lots and lots of adventures on.

It’s a beautiful board that looks like it’s made from wood, and I think I looked pretty good sitting on it! 😎🐾

Now, before anyone gets too excited… we didn’t actually go on the water! 😂 The board stayed safely on dry land while I had a little sit, a sniff around and started getting used to this strange new thing Dad seems to love so much.

But one day — hopefully not too far away — Dad and I will paddle out on the water together. ❤️🏄‍♀️🐶

After my big moment, we wandered over to our usual picnic benches, watched everyone out on the lake and had a little chill in the sunshine.

I’ve watched Dad paddleboarding…

I’ve watched other people paddleboarding…

And now I’ve finally got my paws on a board of my own! 🐾

Today might have only been on dry land, but I have a feeling this is the beginning of something very special. 🌊❤️

My first paddleboard. My first little step towards becoming a proper adventure dog.
