Lead times on saddles are coming down - YEY!!!
Marchie is happy and dry in his stable as we have decided to not even try to ride in this wild and wet weather. We are not flooded here at Hard Ing (though we have a huge puddle down by the cattle grid), but we know many of our friends and customers around the region have been fighting flooded roads, soaked fields, rising water levels and wild wind.
To try and put a positive spin on the wet and dreary beginnings of winter, I am pleased to report that some of our supplier lead times are coming down. Bliss and Loxley are now on 15 weeks - yey! Wow are on about 12 weeks - double yey! And Solutions Saddles have many saddles in stock for immediate delivery and are only on about 4 weeks turnaround for those that they do not hold in stock - triple yey!
It is worth bearing in mind that even a 15 week lead time takes us to February 2022 (eek!), so if you are thinking you might need a new saddle for next season, now is the time to book in and order. Don't leave it too late, the before-Covid times of a maximum three week turn around are long gone and not likely to return until at least late 2022.
In case you are worried that a saddle ordered now will not fit in the spring, please rest assured that saddles ordered 6 months ago and are being delivered now, fit like a glove. Society of Master Saddlers saddle fitters always take great pains to ensure that a saddle's basic tree shape fits your horse's skeleton. This means that any weight change between ordering and fitting can be accommodated though minor flocking adjustments which can be done on site at the time of delivery.
And even if you do not want a new saddle, please do support us by booking in to have your current saddle checked - times are tough for small businesses like ours right now and we really value your custom.
