Ladies Triples SF update. Although our ladies came second, with 15 shots, at Egham last night, they acquitted themselves really well - and actually won 12 ends! Playing oppos including Debbie Souter and Yasmina Hassan......so a good contest. Dropping an unfortunate 6 in the first end pretty much tells the tail of the difference and outcome.

Croydon is proud of them.

Our Ladies Surrey Triples team are still doing us PROUD......a bit of a gloomy evening at Chessington last night, although generally the promised rain held off until towards the end of their match.

Croydon was holding the opposition at bay, but Woking came back in the last few ends so it was down to the wire. 2 shots would have pushed matters to an extra end (owls hooting, bats flying - well, not quite that late). BUT Croydon bravely held on and limited the oppos to a single point......not enough thankfully, so no need to dig out the torches. Croydon moves on to the SEMI-FINALS at Egham this Friday, again at 6.00pm.

Ugh - a Friday, the M25.....the things bowlers will do for their craft. Wishing them the VERY BEST OF LUCK.

Congratulations to Nick Driver, winning through his first 2 Surrey unbadged games.....awaiting an opponent for the next round (away) on 14th June.

And stellar performance from Dominique Horne, Lesley King and Sue Lammas - played 3 won 3 in the Surrey Triples. Next stop the QFs at Chessington on 1st June.

Another fantastic evening at Croydon Bowls club hosting its by-monthly Bingo last Friday. Pictured are our doughty caller Jane and checker Shirley.

A great evening was held, with the bar open as an added bonus. The roll over Jackpot was not won, so this will now be on offer on the 27th July at our next Bingo session, probably £150.

FANTASTIC evening of DARTS was held at the club on May 1st, organised by Jack and Nicola Foster, backed up by the Croydon Darts Players.
40 people entered, divided down into 20 teams, one darts player and one Bowler were then paired up. Lots of spectators cheering on..

After several rounds 3rd and 4th place was between Yvonne Russell/Jack Foster, playing Phil Trevett/Alan Hart, with Yvonne and Jack taking the spoils.

The finalists James Bolingbroke/Derek Fifield, played Ryan Foster/Mandy Reeves, with James and Derek the eventual winners.

A presentation took place afterwards with our very own President Barry presenting trophies donated by the Darts Section.

This evening was set up by the Darts group in aid of the clubs carpet fund, and over £285 was raised. total now over £1000, In addition a busy evening for the bar, once again manned by the darts section.

A great achievement! Well done all.

Great Quiz evening on the 24th.... biggest quiz with 14 teams 70 people. Great fun was had by all winning team was Sue Lammas, Jane Seymour, Derek Hawkins, Tony Rowland, Kay Cadd and Marion Branch, winning team had 68 points, the next two had 67 and one more had 64.
