⚾ THE SEASON MAY BE OVER… BUT WE’RE NOT STOPPING! 💪🔥
With the 2026 season behind us, the Cornish Claycutters are already back on the field and getting ready for 2027! ⚾
Some of our players have been away representing the club at the Bristol All Stars, while we’ve also had the pleasure of welcoming some of our international followers to Cutters Field — Hans all the way from Germany 🇩🇪 and Keenan from Austria 🇦🇹!
🌍⚾ It’s fantastic to see the Claycutters family reaching beyond Cornwall!

🏆 2026 ALL STARS! 🏆
A huge congratulations to Bethany Cowley and Stephen Mills, who have been named as our 2026 All Stars! 👏🔥
⚾ Bethany Cowley — recognised for her incredible grit and determination on the mound for the Pioneers, before stepping up and giving everything for the Claycutters. Her commitment, attitude and willingness to battle for the team have been outstanding all season. 💪🖤💛
💥 Stephen Mills — another fantastic season behind the plate, proving once again what an incredible catcher he is. And to add 9 HOME RUNS to his season is an unbelievable achievement! 🚀⚾
A massive congratulations to you both — thoroughly deserved! 👏👏👏
⭐ A special shout-out to Marcus Rigg, who will also be joining Beth tomorrow to represent the Claycutters at the Summerdale Pavilion.

🟡⚫ SEASON OVER — HEADS HELD HIGH ⚫🟡
A tough weekend for the Cornish Claycutters, with two hard-fought games against Bristol Buccaneers ending in a split of the spoils.
🔥 Game 1: Claycutters 11–8 Buccaneers
What a game! After falling behind early, the Cutters fought all the way back, capped off by Sean Deàth launching a WALK-OFF GRAND SLAM to seal an incredible 11–8 victory! 💥⚾
🔥 Game 2: Claycutters 12–14 Buccaneers
Another tight contest that went right down to the wire, but this time Bristol came out on top 14–12.
Unfortunately, the results mean the Claycutters are now out of contention for the BBF postseason.
🏆 SWWBL Division 4 — 3rd Place
It’s not the ending we wanted, but finishing 3rd in the SWWBL Division 4 is something this team should be proud of.
From travelling across the country, battling through tough games, injuries, weather and everything else that comes with being a completely self-funded club — this team has continued to turn up and represent Cornwall with pride. 💛🖤
A massive thank you to every player, coach, volunteer, scorer, supporter and everyone who has backed the Claycutters throughout the season.
The postseason might be out of reach, but the season isn't forgotten.

Tomorrow we welcome the Bristol Buccaneers to Cutters Field for our final games of the regular season — and it’s a BIG one! ⚾️
With both teams fighting for position in the BBF playoffs, there is everything to play for across two games. 💪

The Cornish Claycutters hit the road tomorrow as we travel to Keynsham, Bristol for a double-header against the Bristol Buccaneers.

⚫🟡 MATCH REPORT | DOUBLE HEADER SWEEP 🟡⚫
A fantastic day at Cutters Field saw the Cornish Claycutters complete a double-header sweep over the Cardiff Merlins, taking Game 1 14-4 before edging a thrilling 10-9 victory in Game 2.
Game 1 saw the Cutters explode out of the blocks with 17 hits. Stephen Mills launched another home run, while Adam Bramley continued his fine form at the plate with 3 hits and 2 RBIs to earn Player of the Day – Batting. Danila Petrov drove in three runs, Sean De'Ath collected two RBIs, and James Shaw was outstanding on the mound, pitching all five innings, allowing just four hits while striking out 3 to claim the win.
Game 2 proved to be a much tighter affair. The Claycutters built an early lead before Cardiff battled back, but timely hitting from Danila Petrov (2 RBIs), Danny Tingle (3 RBIs) and Marcus Rigg helped secure a hard-fought 10-9 victory. Rich Price battled through 4.1 innings to earn the win, striking out 1 in a gritty performance.
Player of the Day – Fielding goes to Ed Bird, who put in a superb defensive display all day and incredibly played Game 2 with a broken finger, showing outstanding toughness and commitment to the team.

⚫ Game 2: Cornish Claycutters 10-9 Cardiff Merlins
Two wins, another brilliant team performance, and the Claycutters continue to build momentum.

Game 1- Plymouth Outlaws 7–6 Claycutters
Game 2- Plymouth Outlaws 14–11 Claycutters
A frustrating day in Plymouth as the Cornish Claycutters came away empty-handed despite two hard-fought performances against the league leaders.
Game One saw the Cutters fall just short in a 7-6 thriller. After finding themselves behind early, the team battled back and took the game right down to the final inning. Stephen Mills led the offence with a huge solo home run and finished 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Ed Bird also went deep with a two-run homer. James Shaw continued his excellent season at the plate, scoring three runs, also battling through four innings on the mound, striking out four.
The bats stayed hot in Game Two, but Plymouth again edged the contest 14-11 in another high-scoring affair. The Claycutters racked up 13 hits, with Stephen Mills producing a standout performance, going 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. Danny Tingle added two hits and two RBIs, while James Shaw and Sean De'Ath both collected two hits apiece. Katie Thorpe drove in two runs, and Phil Gilbert, Bethany Cowley and Danila Petrov all contributed hits as the offence continued to apply pressure until the final out.
Despite the two losses, there were plenty of positives to take away. The Claycutters scored 17 runs across the double-header and recorded 17 hits, showing once again that they can compete with the division's best.
